Ok, edwrad got really sick once and he had to leave his girlfriend once, harry saw both his parents die, experienced almost getting killed, saw cedric diggory die and almost died himself, saw the only legal guardian he had that he actually loved die, he was also hated and avoided by most of his classmates during books 4 and 5,spoilers* saw dumbledore, the one person who could help him the most in his quest to kill voldemort die and could do nothing about it, and during the battle of hogwarts, he saw a bunch of his friends incluiding fred weasley die, *Big spoiler* and then he found out that the only way to kill voldemort was to die himself and had to walk directly into death's arms.

i couldn't have said it better myself.

I would love to hear from someone who thinks that Edward has had a tougher life than Harry. Seriously.

Okay Harry has been through much more but roobiip is right.You don't need to hate Twilight so much it's just a love story, a book like all the others.And it is also very different from Harry Potter so you can't exactly compare them.I for one love them both equally.

Edward's lived a life refusing to look for love then complaining about being lonely. Harry wasn't able to do anything while his friends, family and role models were killed off one by one and Voldemort tried to hunt him down and kill him, while trying to enslave the world. Oh yes, Edward's life was sooo much more tragic than Harry's (sarcasm ends here).

Reasons why Edward's life is harsh: Something like vampire transforming, and seeing his mum die after saying a thing or two like SAVE HIM OR I'LL F*CK YOU TO DEATH!

Why Edward's life is hard???

Harry:
-Parents killed
-Raised abusively by the Dursleys
-Lived in a closet
-Bullying at school (Draco, Crabbe, Goyle)
-Voldemort wants him dead and tries to hunt him down
-Sees several people die (Cedric, Sirius, Dumbledore, Dobby, etc.)
-Almost dies several times
-The whole thing with Sirius and Pettigrew
-A lot more challenges (Triwizard Tournament, finding horcruxes, etc.)
-Goes through a lot of pain (both physically and psychologically)

Edward:
-His mom dies
-Turns into a vampire
-Thinks Bella died

Compare these two lists. It's pretty obvious to me who lived the harder life. This isn't a question of which book is better, it's a question of who lived the harder life. There's no comparison.

ive picked harry potter answers for every other one...i just think the guilt edward supposebly experiences would out weigh the damage that happens to harry..and he'll have to live with it forever

His parents died before he knew them. The first 11 years of his life were completely miserable. No one really ever loved him until he went to Hogwarts and met Ron and Hermione. The one father figure he ever had, was killed right in front of him only 2 years after he first met him... That's not even the worst. But I don't feel like listing any more xD

^ EclecticFan (sorry if I screwed up your name) I can sort-of see what you mean, but I think Bella can make the guilt melt away. Harry, nothing can. Nothing but seeing *megaspoilers* Lily, James, Dobby, Cedric, Tonks, Remus, Sirius, Fred and Colin walking down the streets. Overall, for the deaths of people listed, I think that's more guilt, and unlike Edward, who gets a meal from the detahs, Harry gets nothing, so there isn't a moment of just splurging.

i agree with nati30 100% ! some people say that Edward had guilt. well try and imagine the guilt Harry had through all the books (especially at the end of 7) when many of his friends and loved ones died for him! i don't think edward even comes close...

Edward = parents died, got sick, turned into a vampire and then spent 90 or so useless years in school...
Harry: Parents were murdered, eleven years of being mentally and physically abused and neglected, then was suddenly told he was a wizard and had this whole other life thrust on him, defeated Voldemort, killed a giant snake and got bitten by it (almost died) had the life almost sucked completely out of him by Dementors. Witnessed the death of Cedric and the rise of Voldemort, then had to fight and escape from Voldemort, then was almost killed by the imposter of Mad Eye, was possessed and had horrifying nightmares, lost his only family, was almost killed AGAIN by Voldemort, lost Dumbledore, the only guide he had left, and was left with this monumental task, had to run around finding Horcruxes repeatedly risking his life, then had to fight in the battle of Hogwarts, then almost die and eventually kill the most evil wizard of all time.

emmm I guess it's edwared cuz harry is a human at the end and all his problems can be fixed not like edwared

^You obviously have never dealt with someone close to you dying, let alone like 15 people close to you.

He faced abuse from his aunt and uncle throughout his childhood and has been lied to about his parents for eleven years. Plus all the trauma he faced at Hogwarts. Edward went through a lot of horrible stuff, too but Harry faced them as a child. Childhood traumas are much worse.

From what we know, I'd say Harry even though his hardships seemed to come at an end when he was around 18. He had a pretty charmed life after that by all accounts. Edward's suffering stemed more from his attitude towards the changes he went through. To an extent he chose to mope and dwel on the negative side of being a vampire.
