I don't care actually about Twilight so much

I'm only happy because it'll make the award show bearable now. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks this, but I am honestly sick of seeing "Robsten" dick around on stage like a pair of 12-year-olds and pretend to maybe/possibly kiss. It's repetitive and annoying as hell. Plus, I could NOT sit there and watch as that piece of shit Breaking Dawn Part 2 beat Django, Silver Lingings, Les Miserables, or The Avengers (but mostly Django....that movie was intense).

(forgot to add this part) but for the most part I kinda don't care. I'm just really sick of Twilight and I'm REALLY sick of good films/performances being robbed of their awards because of it.

Though I do feel it was a poor decision on mtvs part, reputation wise. I'm not sure why MTV is trying to imitate the Oscars, they need to keep thier demographic in mind.

^I see where you're coming from but the nominees seem pretty appropriate for the award show. I mean, they're not nominating Lincoln and Argo since teens don't watch those films at all. They're nominated genuinely good films appropriate for the award show. That's how it used to be until the Twilight (and Transformers) films came along.

They should be nominating films their viewers enjoy. I think that makes a lot more sense.

^and the they've been getting bad rep because of it. People were pissed to see Twilight beating incredible pieces and the Twilight fans were too intoxicated with their love for Twilight to notice it. Twilight has been stealing the spotlight for long enough. Yeah it may be popular but teens did also enjoy Pitch Perfect, Ted, The Hobbit, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Avengers, and Dark Knight Rises. Twilight wasn't the only good film this year.

I think the only people they've been getting a bad rep from are the people who aggressively hate Twilight. Of course they think life is unfair because of Twilight. Even some people who work for MTV are upset with the nominations.

But in the end, it's a fan voted award show. The single fact alone that Twilight always wins means that the viewers really like Twilight. Of course not all of them, but the fans so obviously outnumber the non fans who actively participate in these things.

Perhaps we should ban America and China from the Olympics because other countries deserve to win too sometimes. It's pretty much the same concept. Twilight wins awards because the fans work hard toward it. Because they love the films. More so than other nominated films. It's not a crime and it's not unfair. If other movies want to win, they should just create better franchises with stronger fan bases. Better their own shortcoming instead of cutting off Twilight just to make other fan bases feel better.

My gosh, this is a ridiculous topic of conversation. I couldn't help but notice as I typed that.

^Well China and the US are actually good and deserve their medals. Twilight (in my/a lot of other people's opinions) doesn't deserve anything. I know you may like Twilight but in all honesty, I'm pretty sure we can all agree that the films are really not as good as its competition. I mean I love Bad Girls Club but I'd never say that it's anywhere as good as other Emmy Award winning shows. Even Harry Potter, I mean, I love the books/films but can were really say that they're of AMAZING Oscar quality. Not really. So basically, MTV/many viewers were sick of it which is why they got rid of Twilight all together.

Plus, if you gave each Twilight fan only 1 vote, I'm sure their results would plummet. They vote a million times.

Lots of people vote millions if times, just explore various fan outlets around voting periods. I don't see how the opinions of yours/many people is any more calif than mine/other many people. This is the LAST one. It's not as if the MTV movie awards are trapped in some sort of Twilight zone where they're destined to nominate Twilight movies for the rest of eternity. If people can't deal with it just one more time, well that shows a severe lack of something vital to living a peaceful, tolerable life.
We're not even talking about the Emmys or The Oscars. This is the MTV movie awards, nothing more ( which is why my answer is neutral). I am very aware that The Twilight films are not Oscar worthy films. They have their own place with the MTV crowd, this summing the entire point of everything I've been saying. Bad Girls Club fits well in this category as well.

I remain on a neutral ground. I'm not a big fan of award ceremonies no matter what is being awarded, nothing I want to win ever does.

I don't care about the MTV award shows, but knowing that Twilight only got one makes me feel warm inside. :)
