At least he tries, Vernon was just horrible.

Vernon's treatment of both Harry and Dudley wasn't good. He was horrible to Harry and spoiled Dudley to death. That's not how a good parent/guardian should be. Charlie's relationship with Bella was awkward at first (and he didn't even know his daughter was pregnant) but at least he cares for her.

I think that a better example of a parental figure for Harry would be someone like Sirius or Dumbledore. True, Vernon was his guardian, but Harry never considered him a father-esque person (or anything even remotely similar).

Vernon will be burning in Hell when he dies. Even if Hell doesn't exist, he will still be burning in it.

This pick wasn't very fair :( Charlie was an awesome dad whereas Vernon was awful to both Dudley and Harry. It should have been Charlie vs. Sirius/Lupin/Hagrid/Dumbledore/James. Those were Harry's father figures. Not Vernon.

I wanted to put up this poll to show the Twilight fans who got offended by the picks prior to this one that I wasn't trying to hate on Twilight. I didn't mean to sound biased towards HP. :/

I don't know much about Charlie, but I do know that the alternative is definitely not the better of the two.

Charlie is a much better and more loving parental figure, so for me, this is a no-brainer.
