Why cant 吸血鬼 just use sunscreen?

Because those are faries not vampires.

Because sunscreen does not stop the sun from touching you. Just like how 你 can get a sunburn while wearing sunscreen, a vampire (whether he glitters 或者 burns) would still be effected 由 the sunlight shining down on him.

Because they're cocky, pretentious a-holes. Duh.

Of course they can`t!
你 see, 吸血鬼 sparkle only in direct sunlight (*ignoring the fact that our atmosphere and magnetic field of the Earth stop most of the sunrays, so we are never on "direct sunlight" anyway - if we would be, we would all burn, not just (old-fashioned) vampires*), so shadow, clauds, 或者 clothes can stop the sunrays. But sunscreen can`t because, 你 see, 吸血鬼 can`t change and...um, 你 need to change to use sunscreen and...em, Meyer said......


I have no idea.

It was because Meyer wanted uber special 吸血鬼 and thus took away every single weakness that they have. This comes from the fact that I can't possibly believe that Meyer wasn't in the slightest familiar with vampire legends before she started writing. She takes too much from other Vampire authors to be funny. But anyways, she figured cutting their weaknesses was a good thing, but that is just poor writing.
