Meg stood behind a wall, lurking at Cas and Alexia through her field-glass. They were sitting on a terrace eating 威化饼, 华夫饼 and drinking milk-shake. Cas looked as if he was drinking heaven itself.
Meg wanted to go to him and explain why she had to run, but she couldn’t without telling him who he was. And she knew she was being watched. She had escaped Crowley’s demons, but it would only be a matter of time before they caught up with her. And if they did she had no chance of defending herself. She had been so stupid to leave the 天使 刀 at home.
As she was staring through the field-glass a white flash blinded her eyes. “Aahh” she growled as she looked away. She looked at Cas’s table. A few yards ahead, in an alley, Meg could see the glimpse of a young girl. The girl quickly walked away and Meg raced after her. However, when she was at the alley Cas blocked her.
She froze.
“Meg?” Cas 说 difficult. Alexia was holding his hand.
Meg swallowed and her 心 beat painfully in her chest.
Cas recovered himself and took a few deep breaths. “What are 你 doing here?”
“Emmanuel, I know you’re upset with me, but I can explain” Meg started.
“You promised we would leave together” Cas 说 mad. “I trusted you”
“I know” Meg said. “And I meant what I said. I really wanted to leave with you. But something came up”
“Like what?” Cas asked uncaring.
“There are people looking for you” Meg started, looking around agitated. “They know we’re friends. They’ve been in my house and threatened me. They wanted me to lure 你 out, but I didn’t say anything, because I didn’t want 你 to get hurt. They took me with them, but I escaped”
Cas frowned. “So, 你 were trying to protect me?” he asked soft.
“Yes, I was” Meg confirmed.
“Well, we can go now” Cas said.
“No, we can’t” Meg 说 sad. “They know we’re friends. If they find me, they’ll think you’re with me. And so I have to stay as far away from 你 as possible” She took a deep breath. “I just came here to tell 你 that you’re being watched and it’s not the same dudes I’m talking about. It’s a girl”
Meg walked away and Cas watched her leave. Alexia pulled his sleeve. He looked down. “Uncle Emmanuel, I don’t think 你 can trust that lady”

Cas kicked the door of their bedroom open. Daphne was sitting on 最佳, 返回页首 of Mitch.
“Daphne” Mitch said, looking at Cas.
“Don’t worry” Daphne 说 with a heavy voice. “That’s my husband. He knows I have my needs. It’s not my fault he’s incompetent”
Mitch pushed her off of him and searched for his clothes. Cas turned around and ran downstairs.
“What are 你 doing?” Daphne asked grumpy. “Come back in bed”
“Are 你 completely out of your mind?” Mitch exclaimed.
“Oh, please, 你 knew I was married” Daphne said.
“That was really low” Mitch said. “Get dressed. I’m done here. 你 go find someone else to consider your needs”
“Come on, don’t be like that” Daphne said.
They heard an enormous crack and they jumped.
“What the hell was that?” Mitch asked.

Cas stroked his hair and tried to keep his breathing under control. Meg didn’t understand. He needed more. He had lied about the pain being back, but he hadn’t lied about needing another dose. He opened the upper buttons of his shirt, suddenly feeling feverish.
He hurried to the dresser and opened all drawers and cupboard doors. He searched through them, checking all boxes, finding nothing. He slammed everything shut and began to rub his fingers again.
“If I were a medicine cabinet, where would I be?” Cas mumbled trembling and out of breath. He ran to the stairs and sprinted upstairs. He went to the bathroom and opened the mirror cupboard.
“Got it” he said, sighing relieved and he grabbed all boxes that had medicines in it. He took out all the strips and swallowed the pills one 由 one.
He leaned against the cold, marble 墙 and sank down on the floor. He closed his eyes and fell asleep.
