There\'s no arguing with the fact that Arya Stark hasn\'t exactly had an easy ride.
Having witnessed her father being beheaded and losing the rest of her family, the teenager has now been cursed with blindness after she killed Ser Meryn Trant in season five.
But actress Maisie Williams says Arya\'s tough enough to take it, telling
that her character\'s willingness to be an assassin is "the reason she\'s still alive".
"She has this very dark side to her and she will stop at nothing to get what she wants," she said. "The reason it\'s worked so well is because it\'s about what she wants."
But will Arya still be so strong now that she\'s working to become a Faceless Man?
"To now channel all the same emotion and energy into working for someone else, I don\'t know if that is something she is cut out for," the actress admitted. "And that\'s a huge thing we see coming into season six, we see a massive conflict within her."
, said that Arya\'s murder of Ser Meryn was "probably" the most shocking scene she\'s done on the show - but that the villain deserved it.
"It was a messed up thing for Arya to do but we were all in agreement that we didn\'t like Ser Meryn," she said. "So there\'s no controversy on that front."
And while the show is focused predominantly on the struggle for the Iron Throne, Williams is glad her character has different motivations.
"She\'s never really been part of the \'game of thrones\'," she said. "I\'m happy about that.
"Lots of people who get sucked into that, they always start out fighting for one thing and then as soon as you get involved in the power game, and the Iron Throne, you start fighting for the wrong reasons.
"She\'s had the same goal this whole time and no one has ever come in and changed that."
But will Arya survive the sixth season to achieve her mission? We\'ve handily worked out the odds of each character surviving the next 10 episodes for you.
will be simulcast on Sky Atlantic at 2am on April 25, at the same time as it airs in the US, and will be repeated at 9pm the same day.
