Chapter 18: Deception

Mason awoke with his arms folded behind his head, 夏洛特 curled up a few feet away from him. "...Intense dream." They were still on the roof, undisturbed 由 the Majors from his 前一个 dream. Mason felt around for his watch, realizing he had left it in the pocket of his jacket, which was draped upon Charlotte's slumbering form. "Damn.." He cursed under his breath and fumbled through the right pocket of his jacket. He accidently bumped her, though he had no idea where. The cool metal touched his hand, he had found what he was looking for, though 夏洛特 had be woken 由 his fumbling around. She sat up, his hand still in the pocket, realizing he had accidently "copped a feel". "GAH!!!!! I'M SORRY!I WAS GETTING MY WATCH!" He wailed and flew backward, watch still in her pocket. She shrugged lazily and tossed the watch to him, watching him fumble with it. "No biggie." Sh curled back up into her ball as Mason checked the time un gracefully. "How could we have been awake for such a long time and only got up at 8:16?" His companion shrugged again, sitting up and grumbling. "Maybe we shouldn't sleep on the roof anymore..." Mason threw the watch back to Charlotte, she played with it a bit and tossed it back into the pocket. "They're probably looking for us..." 夏洛特 rose to her feet, stumbling a small bit, she couldn't see real well through her bloodshot eyes. She staggered to the door as Mason followed.

They retch the lobby of HQ, finding the group of teens conversing between themselves. "There they are!" Edward scowled at the duo as they approached the benches the others were waiting on. "Where the hell were 你 two?!" Shouted Edward, his voice growing hoarse. 夏洛特 pointed upward with a lax motion. "Roof." Edward gave her an incredulous look and pinched the ridge of his nose in annoyance. "You're 更多 freaking trouble than you're worth!" 夏洛特 furrowed her brows, a snyde look on her face. "Is that so?" She slipped the 涂层, 外套 of her arms slowly and handed it back to Mason, who was standing 下一个 to her. "Yes! Damn it. sometimes i wish 你 hadn't even came here." Her breathing was heavy, her fists clenched at her side. 夏洛特 rose the right fist, like she was getting ready to knock him out with her blind fury. Instead, she simply stormed silently to her room. "EDWARD!" The voice was followed 由 a hard blow to the head. Winry stood, holding a wrench tightly as Edward fell to the tiled floor. "You don't say that to people 你 big jerk!"

Mason burst into her apartment, Edward pushing his way past him. "Dude, i think 你 pissed her off. She's probably gone now." Edward shook his head and darted for her bedroom, finding it completly empty, even the bedsheet had vanished. Every drawer was pulled open and tossed to the floor. The only thing left was her cloth doll, laying sprawled across the floor. "Tell 野马 to sound the siren."
