favorite” poll series. Last week’s winner of the epic, six-part showdown for favorite character episode was (drumroll, please) … “The One Where Everyone Finds Out” (or, Phoebe’s reaction to learning about Monica and Chandler)! Thanks to all of you who played! Now, moving on to the two who are arguably the most memorable star-crossed lovers of the ’90s …

The Greatest TV Couple of All Time? EW Staff Pick: Ross and Rachel
Mulder and Scully, Dawson and Joey, Buffy and Angel, Dr. Ross and Carol: Television in the ’90s gave us some couples that made our hearts beat, break, and oftentimes burst. But of all the couples that hooked up and broke up in the ’90s (and early ’00s), perhaps the most beloved were Ross and Rachel.
Rachel owned a piece of Ross’ heart long before she fled the altar and ran into Central Perk (and into the hearts of everyone else). From the first few episodes, we knew we were in for a romantic, rollicking ride. From heart-bursting, touching, tear-filled moments to heartbreaking ones that made our eyes rain just as much, we all rode the roller coaster of their relationship right along beside them.
Over the course of 10 seasons, the hilarious, magical, and memorable moments between Ross and Rachel (Roschel?) were countless. Friends, lovers, enemies, rivals, secret admirers, and parents … it was almost impossible to narrow their “best of” down to five for this week’s poll. So I didn’t. I picked six. With apologies to the birth of baby Emma, “Baby Got Back” (honorable mention), and that time Ross said Rachel’s name when he was at the altar with Emily (sounds
like Rachel, dude), here are the six nominees for best Ross and Rachel moment.
Good luck making your choice. With some moments so romantic they’ll make you want to rewrite your own love story (sorry, husband), and moments so funny you’ll want to relive that time you went to Vegas on your 21st birthday (but not really), it’s almost impossible to pick just one. Really, there could be entire sub-lists and multiple categories for these two, but in the interest of time (and sanity), combining them was a necessity.
The One Where Ross Finds Out (or, The One Where Ross and Rachel Finally Kiss)
Or, at least in my mind, THE MOST EPICALLY ROMANTIC SCENE IN TELEVISION HISTORY.
The One with the Prom Video (or, The One Where Rachel Realizes Ross Is Her Lobster)
Or, at least in my mind, THE SECOND-MOST EPICALLY ROMANTIC SCENE IN TELEVISION HISTORY.
The One with the Jellyfish (or, The One Where Ross and Rachel Have the Epic Fight)
The One in Vegas: Part 1 (or, The One Where Ross and Rachel Try to Embarrass Each Other on the Plane)
Rachel Green, Mile-High Club Member since 1999. Almost.
The One in Vegas: Part 2 (or, The One Where Ross and Rachel Get Drunk … and Married)
Because when you’re drunk and bored in Vegas, there’s really only one logical thing to do.
The Last One: Part 2 (or, The One Where Rachel Gets Off the Plane)
Or, at least in my mind, THE THIRD-MOST EPICALLY ROMANTIC SCENE IN TELEVISION HISTORY.
Vote for your favorite Roschel moment below! (But really, is it too late to make that happen?)
Make sure to check back next week for the winner of the Ross and Rachel poll, and for a new poll with favorite Chandler and Joey moments. Don’t forget to leave your suggestions in the comments!
