Imagine a brown eyed girl in a hospital bed. Tubes sticking into her arms and nose. Her eyes are closed and she's breathing heavily, she's sleeping of course. Her blonde, wavy hair falling carelessy around her petite shoulders. This girl is named Clair. Clair is diagnosed with cancer. A cancer so rare the doctors do not know of a cure.

Chapter 1
"So what are we going to do this weekend?" my best friend Tyler asked me Friday during lunch. We were sitting on the brick 墙 of the 足球 field. The sun was high in the sky and the wind was blowing our hair. It was oddly quiet, even though people were laughing and eating their lunch. I only heard a buzz from them. I learned how to block noises out from home.
Tyler was sitting across from me. Legs dangling off the side of the wall. His black hair covered his eyes, which was the winds fault. His hair always was off to the side. His blue eyes shining in the sunlight, if 你 could see them. People thought Tyler was dangerous. He came to McCumberland High School a new kid, which were treated like outcasts until someone was 《勇敢传说》 enough to talk to them. He came to my freshman class and sat behind me during first period english. I could see it then that he was going to go through hell. My class is very critical, if your not like them then your considered weird.
I've never been the one to go with the crowd and had my own clique of friends. Which contained only me. When class let out early we had 5 分钟 befor the 钟, 贝尔 rang. I turned around and introduced myself 'Hey im Clair' i told him.
'Tyler' he replied.
And from that 日 on we've been 老友记 ever since.
I shrugged, coming back to reality and taking a bite out of my ham and cheese sandwhich. "Not sure Mom has to work and so does dad. So maybe 你 could come over and we could hang out." I 说 after i swallowed.
He smiled. "Your house is way 更多 fun than mine."
"At least 你 see your parents. When i see mine they always fight." Which was true. They would fight over everything and anything under the sun, including me.
"Not all the time. My parents are off on buisness this weekend." He said. His parents worked with the Stock Market and taveled often but still had enough time for him. I liked his family. His mom always smiled and his dad was hilarious. I loved hanging out there.
I shrugged and smiled. " Then i guess we're going to my house this weekend."
HE smiled his crooked smile which always made my 心 skip a beat. "I guess" He 说 as the 钟, 贝尔 rang.
We both jumped down and grabbed our bookbags. After throwing our trash away. We walked to German. That weekend was the last of the happines i remember.

Then the earth started shaking and Elena rolled down.
The road that led to the open field cracked open and Elena’s feet got stuck in one of the cracks.
