Do 你 believe in 作者 powers? 8D

Yes, I do believe in 作者 power. Because 写作 a fic itself is giving power to a person to change the original canon story around. 作者 notes are acceptable, because an 作者 does need to write a little note to the readers, but to me, they are acceptable as long as they are before 或者 after the fic. ANs between fics, however, is a big no-no for me. ANs inserted in the middle of a fic can ruin the entire tone of the story, and jolts 你 back to reality and 你 think that "oh yeah, it's just a fanfiction."

Self-inserts in general bothers me a lot, don't even ask why. It's just really, really annoying, and most of them are badly written in my fandom. Fourth 墙 breakages.. hmm, haven't seen much of those around, but I'm not really fond of those either. Basically, I prefer fics to be taking place in its universe, and the authors' role in this is just 写作 the story itself, and that's it.

作者 notes are fine either at the start 或者 end of a chapter. Sometimes they're necessary, e.g. a note explaining that the 下一个 chapter will be delayed for some reason 或者 other. An 作者 note in the middle of the chapter spoils the flow though.

作者 powers and ruling the story - what do 你 mean? The 作者 decides what happens in the story, that is what it means to be the author. 你 can do whatever 你 want (as long as 你 mention canon divergence, AU etc in the summary, since some people dislike this)

I've read a few self-insertions and they've been ok. I know a lot of people hate the majority, 或者 hate them all, though. Maybe I've been lucky in the ones I've found.

I don't really like fourth 墙 breakage. Like the mid-chapter notes, it breaks the flow.
