Here is a great 文章 on AutoblogGreen on the hot new Chevy Volt, an electric car with a built-in gasoline/ethanol generator. They appear to be using A123System's nano-phosphate lithium-ion batteries (which GM has recently licensed).

A puny, and, dare I say, cute electric car that utilizes a lithium ion battery pack (no hydrogen pumping fuel cell needed here!). I'm a bit surprised at the 100 mile range considering the newish-tech batteries, but I guess it's a smaller pack.
