My dogs do bark at the vaccum! And I love my dogs! So I say yes!

Dogs should bark at things that matter like when there are stranger in your home and to warn you at things that you can't smell or detect but Not at the vaccum or a doorbell or even the tiniest movement of the wind.That is a bit much.

I prefer my dog to only bark when she has to alert me to something - someone coming (at the door), etc. If the dog barks at everything, you begin to ignore the barking after a while - kind of like the boy the cried wolf. My current dog though did try to bark at the vacuum cleaner at first - a new thing to her, but now she enjoys it, especially when I vacuum her - she loves it more than when I brush her with a doggie brush.

My dogs bark at any sound no matter how small and the bark at anything that moves that's not part of the family. But they're still cute and they are just trying to protect the house. Why would you not like a dog? It's annoying but doesn't make me dislike them
