Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:

Illumination Entertainment is releasing a movie this summer called The Secret Life of Pets. I first watched a trailer for it when I watched The Good Dinosaur (my review is here) and I thought it looked like a relatively fun, interesting movie. Then, later, I came to my senses and realized: "What the--HEY! WHAT IS THIS?! THIS IS JUST TOY STORY!"
But let\'s go over similarities between Toy Story and The Secret Life of Pets.
Just from watching the trailer, I\'ve noticed one glaring similarity between the two films. So in Toy Story, toys pretend to be lifeless and still whenever the owners aren\'t around. And in The Secret Life of Pets, pets pretend to be all innocent whenever their owners aren\'t around. That in it of itself is similar enough. Acting out when the owner isn\'t in the house?!
That\'s what I knew just from the trailer. I went on FREAKIN\' Wikipedia and I read their summary of the film. The movie hasn\'t been released yet, so the summary is very short. And here\'s a quote from the plot summary:
A terrier named Max (Louis C.K.) starts to get neglected as a favorite pet when his owner Katie (Ellie Kemper) presents a sloppy mongrel named Duke (Eric Stonestreet), obtained from a dog pound, which results in a rivalry for both of them.
IS IT JUST ME OR DOES THIS SOUND A TINY BIT FAMILIAR TO YOU?!
The Secret Life of Pets: "A pet is happy because he is his owner\'s favorite pet. However, he quickly becomes jealous when he believes the owner\'s new pet is the owner\'s new favorite pet and they become rivals. However, they have to put aside their differences and their quarrels when they are taken away from home and when they need to stop a villain."
The plot of Toy Story: "A toy is happy because he is his owner\'s favorite toy. However, he quickly becomes jealous when he believes the owner\'s new toy is the owner\'s new favorite toy and they become rivals. However, they have to put aside their differences and their quarrels when they are taken away from home and when they need to stop a villain."
Illumination Entertainment has taken the Woody and Buzz idea and has adapted it to Max and Duke. THAT\'S IT! WHERE\'S MY SHOTGUN?! Plagiarizing asses.
Ok, so whenever I say the word "ass" in one of my posts and it\'s uncensored, I\'ll put down a picture of Donkey so that no one can accuse me of cursing. Another word for "donkey" is "ass". Therefore, I\'m calling them donkeys. I did this in my Hoverboard post, too.
I mean, being replaced as favorite, and then taken away?
Not only that, but in Toy Story 2, the toys band together and leave their home to find Woody. In S.L.O.P., the pets band together and leave their home to find Max and Duke.
Toy Story 3, Lotso first appears to be adorable and all that, but it turns out he was abandoned and he and his other buddies want to hurt happily-owned toys and their owners. In S.L.O.P., Snowball first appears to be adorable and all that, but it turns out he was abandoned and he and his other buddies want to hurt happily-owned pets and their owners.
On a side note, Snowball will be voiced by Kevin Hart, and I think this is Kevin Hart\'s very first kids movie. I mean, I\'ve never seen him in a movie that wasn\'t PG-13 or Rated R. I\'ve seen two very quick excerpts from his comedy specials and he was cursing in both of them. So this is gonna be surprising.
Duke tries to get rid of Max, in a very similar fashion to how Woody tried to get rid of Buzz.
