This is second, and I'm really excited to see what people think of it. I hoping the I get better result than I did with my first one. Anyway for those of 你 who haven't read my first one there are a few things 你 probably want to understand before 你 read this, 或者 any of my future fanfics. 1. In my stories Minnie is portrayed as being very close 老友记 with Scrooge (even closer than she is to Daisy). This is partially because they're my 最喜爱的 animated hero and heroine. But, it's also because they have on occasions been shown as close 老友记 and their friendship made 更多 sense than Minnie and Daisy's to me. 2. Sorry Barks and Rosa fans, but Scrooge's personality in my stories is based mostly off his DuckTales character. I do 爱情 the Uncle Scrooge comics, but I grew up with DuckTales, and it's the best IMO. 3. These stories take place some time after DuckTales. Huey, Dewey, and Louie are living with Donald again, and Scrooge is now Webby legal guardian. 4. Webby's grandmother ( Mrs. Beakley) is gone. It's up to the audience to decided what happened to her. But IMO there where too many episodes where she was featured without Webby, and too few where Scrooge and Webby got to spend any time together. Story
It was a beautiful summer day. School was out for Duckburg, and a lot the children had already begun to grow bored. But today was a special 日 for many of the young girls of Duckburg, because not only was this the 日 of the monthly 山雀 meeting, but also this was the meeting where they would plan their annual camping trip.
Minnie Mouse, whose nieces Millie and Melody were staying with her for the summer, was walking them to the 首页 of their scout leader Judy Quackmore. As they rounded the corner and came on to 街, 街道 of the Quackmore home, they met 雏菊, 黛西 鸭 and her three nieces; April, May, and June, who were also on their way to the meeting. “Hey ladies!” 雏菊, 黛西 called when she saw them, “Looking 前锋, 期待 to the camping trip?!”
“Yeah, of course we are!” Millie called.
“‘Specially this time, since Aunt Minnie gets to come with us.” Melody added.
“Yes, I am.” Minnie said, “But did 你 hear that the Chickadees’ cabins burned down in a forest fire, and we may have to sleep in tents this time?”
“Ugh… Way to ruin a good time.” 雏菊, 黛西 groaned, “If I’d known that I wouldn’t have volunteered to come along as a chaperone. I’ll do camp-outs in cabins, but not outside.”
“You 说 it Aunt Daisy.” April said.
“Now girls, this is supposed to be an outdoor experience. Not some luxury vacation”, Minnie sighed. “Besides, in this meeting we are going to discuss an alternative to tent camping.”
“Well let’s hope they find an alternative.” May replied.
“Yeah, let’s hope,” 说 June. “But I guess staying in tents might be an interesting experience.”
When the group began to near the house, 雏菊, 黛西 and her nieces noticed a large limousine parked in front of it. “Oh, nobody told me that there was going to be a celebrity guest speaker at the meeting!” 雏菊, 黛西 exclaimed.
“Who do 你 think it is Aunt Daisy?” May asked.
“It’s not a celebrity guest speaker.” Minnie explained. “It’s just Webby being dropped off.”
“Webby? I thought she was in the Junior Woodchucks.” 雏菊, 黛西 说 feeling confused. “Of course I never could understand why she was in there… poor little girl in mainly a boys’ scout group.”
“Well, from what I understood the reason she was in the Junior Woodchucks was to save money.” Minnie explained, “You know how Uncle Scrooge is always looking for ways to be thrifty.”
“Oh, yes I know, the old cheapskate.” 雏菊, 黛西 说 haughtily, “But how the heck does sticking a girl in the Junior Woodchucks troop save any money anyway?”
“I believe he told me that he got the multiple child discount.” Minnie continued to explain, feeling a little irritated at 雏菊, 黛西 for talking about Uncle Scrooge in that manner, “When the boys were living with him, while Donald was away in the navy…”
雏菊, 黛西 interrupted, “Don’t remind me of that horrible time!” she snapped.
“Sorry.” Minnie sighed, “Anyway while the boys were living with him, and he was paying for their scout membership; he decided to sign Webby up as a Woodchuck also, because he got a discount on each additional child he had listed. But last 月 he told me that Webby wanted to leave the Woodchucks because she didn’t really fit in, and he asked me if I knew of any good scout troops for girls her age. So I told him that I would recommend the Chickadees.”
“Aunt Minnie who’s Webby?” Millie asked.
“Well she’s the…um…niece of a friend of mine.” Minnie said, trying to think of how best to describe Webby.
Before Minnie could finish describing Webby to her nieces, Webby spotted the group coming. “Hi Miss Minnie! Hi Aunt Daisy!” she called excitedly, as she ran to them and hugged both of them.
“Why, hello Webby. So good to see you.” Minnie 说 as she hugged her, “Oh, and these are my nieces, Millie and Melody”, she 说 motioning toward them. “Girls this is Webby.”
“Hi, um… nice to meet you.” Webby 说 shyly.
The two girls waved back, “Hi Webby,” 说 Millie
“Hey!” 说 Melody
Then 雏菊, 黛西 spoke up, “And Webby I’m sure 你 remember my nieces; April, May, and June from last Christmas.”
“Um… yes I remember them.” Webby 说 thinking back to Christmas, and remembering that she did not have especially fond memories of Daisy’s nieces. They were nice enough, but much like their aunt, their interests only included things like fashion, shopping and gossip. They also had no interest in things that she liked: such as fairytales, dolls, 茶 parties, and cute animals. Plus, they seemed to think it was especially strange when she told them that one of her 最喜爱的 activities was swimming in the money bin with her Uncle Scrooge.
Webby’s thoughts were interrupted 由 Melody, “Aunt Minnie, we’ve gotta go in now, 或者 we’ll be late!”
Once they were inside, and seated around the table, Mrs. Quackmore began to introduce Webby, “Now girls we have a new member today, her name is Webby Vanderquack and…” she stopped mid-sentence, as soon as she saw that Webby was alone, “Webby where is your…uncle… is that right… Uncle Scrooge? I thought I made it clear to him that the guardian of the child is highly encouraged to attend this meeting, since we’re discussing what to do about the camping trip, and we’re trying to find another volunteer chaperone, and vote about how best to handle our 舱, 小木屋 problem.”
“Um…he says he’s sorry, but he couldn’t come,” Webby 说 shyly.
“Uh…so your uncle just sent 你 over here 由 yourself on your first 日 among complete strangers that he doesn’t know?” Judy asked.
Before Webby could answer Minnie spoke-up, “Mrs. Quackmore, I’m sorry I forgot to mention this to 你 but Uncle Scrooge had an important business meeting he couldn’t miss, and says he’s very sorry he couldn’t make it to the 山雀 meeting. Also he would never send Webby out 由 herself among strangers, he called me this morning to make sure I was going to be here, before sending her.”
“Oh, I see.” Judy replied a bit haughtily, then thought for a moment. This actually didn’t surprise her in the least; this type of neglectful behavior is just what she had expected when she found out that Scrooge McDuck’s ward was going to be in her troop. She had figured he would be one of those wealthy workaholics, who’s work was 更多 important than his loved ones. But the least he could do is hire a nanny for the poor girl, then again she had heard that was very cheap. Suddenly she remembered the important meeting, “Well, then let’s get down to business. Do we have any other volunteers be chaperones?”
The few mothers that were there all shook their heads, “Uh… sorry.” One of them said, “I’ve already got plans.”
“Oh, come on ladies!” 雏菊, 黛西 snapped, “I’m no outdoor girl either, but I’m willing to go a little out of my comfort zone for my girls.”
June tapped 雏菊, 黛西 on the shoulder, and whispered, “Aunt 雏菊, 黛西 didn’t 你 just say that if you’d known we might stay in tents 你 wouldn’t have volunteered.”
“Shh… I was just kidding sweetie.” 雏菊, 黛西 whispered back.
“Alright, I guess I’ll have to contact the other mothers who didn’t 显示 and see if they will volunteer.” Judy 说 “Now let’s 移动 on to the 舱, 小木屋 problem. Has anyone found a temporary 舱, 小木屋 we can use while ours are being rebuilt?”
“Well, I have been looking for one…but no, I haven’t found one yet.” Minnie replied.
“Okay since we still haven’t found a cabin, we need to put it to a vote; should we postpone our trip in till the 舱, 小木屋 is rebuilt, 或者 should we camp in tents?” Judy asked. “Also understand that it may take several months to rebuild; so we may not get to go on a trip this 年 if we vote to postpone.”
It was very close, and it took some time to come to a decision. But in the end the 得票数 to postpone won, 由 a single vote.
After the meeting Webby felt very disappointed, that the camping trip was going to be delayed. When she came 首页 Scrooge who was anxious to hear about her first Chickadees’ meeting asked, “Well, darling how was the first meeting? Again, I’m sorry I could not make it.”
“The meeting was fine, I guess,” is all that Webby said.
Not getting the enthusiastic answer he was hoping for Scrooge replied, “Hmm…Well, ye certainly do not sound like 你 enjoyed it very much. Don’t tell me 你 also dislike the Chickadees. Thought that what 你 wanted was to be in scout troop full of wee lasses your age.”
“Oh no it’s not like that,” Webby explained, “I’m just really disappointed. 你 see, our annual camping trip is going to be put off for a long time, because we don’t got any cabins to stay in. They voted today about whether to go camping in tents, 或者 wait till the cabins are rebuilt and a lot people 说 to wait. And Mrs. Quackmore 说 that we might not get to go this 年 ‘cause it would take months to rebuild the cabins.”
“Well I’m sorry ye are having to wait so long.” Scrooge 说 as he hugged her. While he was sorry she was disappointed, secretly he was feeling relieved. Though he didn’t want to admit it out of fear of looking too soft and overprotective, the idea that his wee Webbigail would be going on a camping trip without him worried him. It was one thing if he had to leave town on a business trip and leave her with one of his 老友记 for the weekend. He even felt fine for them to go on treasure hunts together, because he was always there to protect her, but it was something else entirely different for her to be camping out in the wilderness without him.
That night Webby lay awake in her 床, 床上 thinking about the camping trip and wondering if there was anything she could do about it. Suddenly she had a brilliant idea. She raced into Scrooge’s bedroom, where he was sitting in his nightshirt at his 台, 办公桌 counting coins, “Uncle Scrooge!” she yelled.
“Curse me Kilts!” he snapped feeling startled, “Webbigail do not startle me like that, 你 made me loose count!”
“Oh sorry.” She replied, “Uncle Scrooge don’t 你 have like a giant three-story vacation cabin?”
“Um…Aye, I do,” he 说 still recovering from the shock, “Um…I haven’t been there in a few years. Of course the reason I bought it was purely investment, not for vacation.” he answered, “It’s interesting ye should ask about it, dear, because I was just thinking a few days 以前 that now may be a good time to sell it. Since, it’s 更多 than tripled in value. Of course the yard would require a wee bit of cleaning up and…” he stopped talking once he noticed how bored Webby looked. “Er…why do ye ask darling?”
“Um…I was just wondering… could the Chickadees use it while ours are being rebuilt?” She replied.
“What?!” he exclaimed, “A bunch of wee kilt nippers running around me cabin?! The answer is; no! They might break something valuable 或者 worse damage it and decrease the value!”
“Um… I think you’re thinking of what the boys used to do. Besides Miss Minnie and Aunt 雏菊, 黛西 will be there to watch us.” Webby said, “Plus 你 can come, and keep an eye on things if 你 want. They are still looking for the last chaperon.”
Hearing that Scrooge was quiet for a moment as he thought, over Webby had just said. He thought how maybe he was being just a wee bit over protective of her. But if they did indeed need another chaperone, then letting them use his 舱, 小木屋 and requesting to come along to keep an eye on things and make sure nothing valuable was damage would be the perfect excuse. Because He would able to keep an eye on his wee Webbigail with out appearing soft and over protective. Anyway what harm could it do.
Soon his thoughts were interrupted, 由 an impatient Webby, “So can my 山雀 troop use the cabin, er not?”
A bit startled, he stammered, “Um…Aye of course they can…um…as long as I can come a long as a chaperone.”
“Yay! Thank you, Uncle Scrooge!” Webby exclaimed as she hugged him.
“You’re welcome dear. Now run along to bed. It’s far past your bedtime,” he 说 as he hugged her back.
Webby crawled back into 床, 床上 went to sleep feeling happy that they would likely get to on the trip after all. After Scrooge finished counted his money he went to bed, too. He felt a bit worried about what might happen to some of the valuable antiques in his 舱, 小木屋 with several little girls in it, not to mention what could happen to the prime real-estate 舱, 小木屋 itself. But at the same time he felt very happy that Webby was going to get to go on her camping trip, and he could accompany her.
