Kind of

The fact is she doesn't 'lose her personality'- when she's adventurous and fun and carefree in the beginning, it's because she doesn't have any worries or cares. however, when the whole conflict with john smith and her people arises, she becomes mopey and confused because she doesn't know what to do- when someone is depressed and concerned they don't have the energy to keep running around, diving off cliffs and going over waterfalls, especially when there are more pressing matters.

She doesn't really have much personality to begin with, in my opinion. It just gets worse around John.

I don't think she loses anything, she is not the kind of girl to lose her personality around a guy, I think the experience of getting to know him changes her a bit, but it doesn't mean she loses her personality, she learns from him just like he learns from her.

let's be honest, she becomes really boring and too serious, we can only see her in action again, when she's going to save him

I also agree with princesslullaby. She only became more serious because things were serious.
