I think so. She was a lot like Rapunzel from Tangled, actually, which is why I chose this option. :)

The Rapunzel from Into The Woods is okay but she's really bland, genetic, and doesn't really have any personality. Unlike Cinderella, Rapunzel is not in the movie that much to make an impact or develop her personality. Cinderella, while she's not a spectacular character (but then again none of them are, even though a lot of them are likable), is still a very likable character. Neither really has the same personality as their Disney Princess counterparts, but Cinderella has more of a character to her and is also more useful in the movie. Okay, she's not a badass or anything, but she actually gets involved in the problems, helps to resolve things, and is part of a group. Rapunzel was a pretty pointless character in the story because she doesn't get involved with the main characters or help to resolve the conflict in the climax.

Cinderella was awesome in Into the Woods

Rapunzel from ITW doesn't do much. And she is way better in the musical than in the movie.

It helps that she gets more screen time and character development.
