I also dislike Jelsa. They have nothing in common beyond ice powers. I don't think any of the others make sense either.
The rest of them have someone else.
I can sort of see Rapunzel being friends with Anna and Elsa because of that Rapunzel cameo in the film.
Yes, I ship Jelsa. Not just because of ice powers, although that was my first reason otherwise. I mean, Loki, Frozone, Ice King and Periwinkle have ice powers as well. But because of their desolate pasts (although, that's more of HansxElsa, which personally is my favourite Frozen ship) and that they both sacrificed something for their sister's sake. Although it's different. Jack is more of the tragic type where in he died, and Elsa basically isolated herself. One of the flaws is that Jack's immortal. Maybe if you shipped him as his mortal self, yes. But Jelsa is illegal-because Jack isn't a legal adult unlike Elsa. Also, they look like siblings...
Alright, yes. Anna has Kristoff. But then again the first choice isn't always the one. This ship is actually really nice if you think about it. They have matching personalities and such. But it faces similar flaws like Jelsa. Jack's immortal and he's not a legal adult. He's a minor (14 in the books, 17 in the movies) and Anna isn't. She's 18, which means she's a legal adult now.
Now, before you tell me "But Eugene and Rapunzel are married!", they didn't say any vows during the marriage. Yes, I know, Disney doesn't want to uphold any religious things. But I'm just pointing out the fact that they won't commit sin if they get a divorce. Also, what if Rapunzel dies of illness or something? The fact they are even in the same movie (Flynn and Rapunzel made a cameo in Frozen) makes the chances of this ship happening even higher, possibly next to Helsa. Yes, Rapunzel and Eugene have been through a lot. But in a lot of movies, the guy and girl go through a lot of shit and yet they end up with someone else.
Shippers can make alternate universes where in Rapunzel may have never met Eugene and escaped with Jack, or that Merida runs away from home on Angus and ends up in Berk. Idk.
I don't ship them because they both have the same powers. NO, I do not. And frankly it really gets on my nerves when people say that. As Emerald said, there many other characters that have the same powers. I actually ship them because of many other reasons. One is that they both have a similar, tragic past. They both sacrificed something big for their sisters (Jack sacrificed his life and Elsa sacrificed her freedom). They were both very lonely for years and they had to be isolated. So if they were ever to meet in real life, I think they would be able to relate to each other and they would be able to comfort each other. They would understand each other.
They may be similar, but they're still different. I believe that opposites attract, and Jack and Elsa are opposites. Elsa is regal, poised and elegant. She is mature and she knows her responsibilities as a queen, and accepts them. Jack on the other hand, is mischievous, playful and he is always playing pranks. I know they seem like total opposites, which they are, but that is good. They would bring out the best in each other. Elsa would teach Jack to be a little more responsible and Jack would help Elsa have a good time.
There is still plenty of reasons why I ship them and I could go on, but that would be too long and I have already explained the main reason why I ship them, so I think I've made my point clear.
