Belle is by far the smartest. Rapunzel never went out in the world, so she wasnt very book wise or street wise, Belle was lucky, she was both.

Belle is not the smartest just because she reads books, especially fairy-tales. Face off the fact, it's quite annoying!!!
Pocahontas is average smart, I think. She seems to understand everything John teaches her about his world very quickly.
I don't know why but I believe Tiana's the smartest.
Rapunzel is very talented and has many skills but that does not make her smart. Intelligence and talent are different things.

Given her age, education, and awareness of the situation, she willingly makes the worst decisions. At least with Ariel you could argue she was naive and very emotionally distraught. I wouldn't call any of the girls dumb but fans sct like she's Disney's Sylvia Plath for reading kindergarten-level fairy tales which is... lol

Rapunzel is extremely smart in a very artificial way. How did she teach herself to swim for the first time and in distress? To chart stars and play chess? She just figures out everything on her own with no help. And she makes some pretty miscalculated choices that the movie lets slide.

Pocahontas is has the intelligence to know when she doesnt know something and is open minded, but not always particularly smart.

Tiana has her thick moments (mainly totally missing the point of Odie's song), but she's also super resourceful, and not in an unexplainable way like Punzy (being from a poor background and forced to work with what she has). She knows life is never gonna help her out so she finds ways to get whatever she wants, and has a lot of common sense.

Also, I wouldn't necessarily put these four in the smart ones group. It's also really surprising Poca is here but not Mulan.

How is Tiana smart, she turned into a frog lol? Not surprised some hating on Belle since you can't find a single post where they aren't uppity about brunette girls.
