I don't like her at all but I will admit she's quite smart. I think it was clever show she tricked Cogsworth into giving her a tour. However she does some stupid things too like going into the west wing when she was told not to go there, ran away when she knew her father would be captured and possibly killed if she left, doesn't think of leaving the castle to get help from the village and gives up her freedom, and shows the Beast to the entire town causing them to go and try to kill him. I don't get how she's smarter than Ariel since Ariel makes up her stupid mistakes with how clever she is.

Nothing personal. I love Rapunzel but still, I think the other four are smarter. Rapunzel's not stupid. Of course not. She's just a little naive. I mean, she did believe all those awful things Mother Gothel told her at the start(but then, what would you expect from someone who was stolen from their real parents as a baby?) and had yet to find out that they were all lies. So, yeah.
I think Jasmine is the smartest. But that's just me.

Basically what princesslullaby said. The thing that stands out to me though (surprised she didn't mention this one) is how she believed Naveen was getting married even though she knew she would become human when the spell broke too.
Jasmine figures out how to pole vault from nothing but watching Aladdin once. Rapunzel is locked up in a tower but still reads and charts stars- with no formal training, I'd assume. I really think people are confusing naivety and lack of intelligence when they vote out Rapunzel.

Rapunzel seems pretty damn intelligent to me. The only thing I'd say that wasn't bright was in the water not remembering her hair could glow.

Frankly I sort of regret voting Pocahontas out before Tiana. Those two should be the bottom 2.

Okay, okay, let's Tiana vote out first...but Jasmine is up next. Getting the concept of jumping from roof to roof is hardly making up for her readiness to accept mor or less everything people tell her.

No, Rapunzel doesn't go with a stranger without protection. Her protection is the fact that she is the only one who knows where the crown is. And it is not like Rapunzel has a lot of options. Unlike Jasmine, she actually plans the best way to leave instead of simply climping over a wall and hoping that everything will be okay. And being naive doesn't translate into being stupid. It's not that Rapunzel is "naturally" naive, she just grew up with limited information. That's easily corrected with a little time outsite. Nevermind that even in her tower she manages to educate herself, not just by reading and doing various other things, but also by watching the stars and drawing her own conclusion about them. (And SHE apperently gets the concept of having to pay for what you need).

Same as I stated before: when a talking frog suddenly and miraculously shows up on your balcony claiming he is a handsome prince with tones of money and that the magic/curse was involved in his transformation the last thing you do is kissing him believing he gives you some of his money (which he never proved that he actually had in the first place nor offered any sort of garanty that he ends up giving it to you). Tiana makes continuous and numerous conscious stupid decision throughout the movie.

And Rapunzel and Mulan have to be the smartest princesses, because either had incredible and evident analytical skills, being capable of making observations and figuring out the way out of multiple life threatening situations - and Rapunzel managed to do it even despite the fact that she had never been outside of her tower before. Yet she still outsmarts the army of royal guards saving both herself and Flynn in a process and even earlier on, back when she still lived in isolation in her tower/prison, she was longing for knowledge and educated herself to the best of her ability because of her natural curiosity: she charted stars, read everything she was provided with even if those were just a limited number of books, trained her artistic skills by drawing on the walls of her tower and in addition to that, despite being brainwashed into being entirely scared and terrified of the world out there and people in it still manages to draw a conclusion that her trip to the "floating lights" can work out under certain circumstances if she finds a right way to go about it - and she in fact did because she knew that Flynn needed her assistance in finding the satchel which was incredibly important to him therefore would complete his part of the deal, taking her to see the lanterns and returning her home. I don't think Rapunzel's situation can be compared to Jasmine's though because while Jasmine didn't possess much of a knowledge on how things worked outside of the palace walls, she was not emotionally pressured or brainwashed to believe that people out there want to use her for something and are inherently dangerous therefore she believed she could just fit into the crowd and start her independent life as a commoner.

To all the people who are voting for Rapunzel. Haven't you guys listened to When will my life begin? She taught herself all that, she charts stars, that only other people that I know can do all of that, are homeschoolers (Yes, I know some and yes I am one). Just because she has blonde hair doesn't make her a dumb one.

Whenever is it ever stated Jasmine learned Pole vaulting by simply watching Aladdin do it once? Maybe she was being sarcastic when she said "I learn quickly"...maybe she did not want to awnser awkard questions.. For all we know she learned that in the Palace....she is royalty and gets all kinds of lessons and most likely from tutors from all over the world...and before someone says that pole vaulting is not something a Princess would be taught....she is rich,spoiled and her father does not pay attention so maybe she bribed or blackmailed somone into teaching her...she did scale a wall to escape the Palace....also it is just me or is it kinda sad that no one noticed she was missing and she had been gone since the night before and now it was afternoon of the next day....(but that is off subject)....oh and hey the ones saying the other girls are stupid for trusting strange men, Jasmine went with a strange man to his house alone and the palace did not even know she was missing so he could have done anything to her....and he was poor, wasn't she worried he would figure out she was the Princess and try to ransom her or something....And with all her education she does not know how to pay for things? Being a future Queen she should have researched and known more about her people, but that might be more selfshiness then stupidity....

Oh and i am thinking the reason Rapunzel is so naieve is cause Gothel did that on purpose so that she could control her easier and it is not Rapunzels fault for listening to her MOTHER....who would not trust thier loving Mother who only wants to protect and love you and would never ever hurt you? If you can not trust your own mother who can you trust? And Gothel had never given her reason to not trust her before....and I agree she did have 2 weapons against Flynn...1.Frying Pan which she had already used on numerous occasions and 2.the Crown, Flynn wanted it and he had to do what she said to get it and she was super stubborn....

And I see Belle going next...just cause you read fantasy books does not make you super smart....if it did I should be considered a genius....HA!....she lacks in the common sense department like Jasmine....When Beast yelled at her she should have just ran to her room and locked it, but NOOOOOOOO.......instead she runs out in the middle of the night into winter woods crawling with wild animals and no protection...real smart....Beast should have let her die, but no he needed her....well heck sneaking into a monster who has you captives one forbidden room is not to bright either...oh you said not to go there...hmmm...I think I will go there....oh you mad I went there...hmmm...Ithink I will run away from you into a more dangerous situation...yep...real good....

Then I think Tiana would be next cause I agree some of her actions were not too bright, but I believe Jasmine and Belle are just a wee bit less smart im opinion....

@Sweet Pea I don't see Belle as smart because she reads (not as smart as Rapunzel and Mulan, but easily place three for me), but because she mostly uses her smarts to get rid of Gaston. Yes, she isn't especially careful when she goes into the west wing, but at least she tries to find out the truth instead of simply relying on what other people tell her, and questions the opinion of other people. I can at least understand why she tries to take a peak - I can't understand why Tiana hears a whole song about "dig a little deeper" and doesn't get the message, or why she doesn't wonder about Naveen being human again when she isn't, aso.
