Heroes should stick together! Both went into battle mode against the giant evil witch villains and both princes successfully destroyed them.

Plus Philip stalked Aurora and Eric was stalked by Ariel. They'd have fun discussions about that. The only thing they don't have in common is the singing aspect. Because Eric never sang and maybe the reason behind that is because he can't sing...in which case Philip would embarrass him by encouraging Eric to break into song at random moments in front of other people with him!
