Moana follows the adventure of spirited teenager Moana Waialiki (set to be Disney's first Polynesian princess) who sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfill her ancestors’ unfinished quest. Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast South Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped — and no one today knows why.



During her journey, she meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), and together, they traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous fiery creatures and impossible odds.



Like most of the modern era 迪士尼 Princess movies, Moana will be CG-Animated. The film is to be directed 由 John Musker and Ron Clements, who were both the directors of Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and The Princess and the Frog. This will be Musker and Clements' first fully computer-animated film.



Moana is a musical film produced 由 Walt 迪士尼 动画片 Studios and distributed 由 Walt 迪士尼 Pictures. It is slated 由 迪士尼 to be the 56th film in the 迪士尼 animated feature canon. The film will be released after Zootopia but before Gigantic. The current release 日期 of the film is November 23rd 2016.



The confirmed cast 列表 currently includes Dwayne Johnson. Two confirmed animal characters are a bird named Hei Hei and a pig named Pua. There will also be a character named Tui, who is the chief (presumably of Moana's island).



Many 粉丝 have praised the 设计 of the main character Moana Waialiki for having 更多 realistic body proportions. Moana will also bring some long awaited diversity to the princess line-up, as the last four princesses have all been Caucasian.
