I don't know if I'm alone on this, but I've become quite tired of everyone bashing the earlier princesses and saying they're bad role 模特 for girls. Personally, I think parents shouldn't be relying on fictional, animated characters to be the role models... but that's a whole different issue altogether. In this 文章 I want to address the common complaints towards the princesses: waiting around for/needing a man, not being independent, etc...

Snow White:

I want to start with a reminder that Snow White is only 14-years-old. Face it, her story is no different than any other 14-year-old girl's: still lives at home, does chores, daydreams about the guy she likes. Keeping that in mind, it isn't fair to say that she isn't a good role model because she isn't independent; very few 14-year-old girls are. And they don't need to be, that's the point. And I don't like that everyone says she's sitting around waiting for a man. That's not true. Her step mom tried to have her killed. She had to run away from 首页 to save herself, but she literally didn't know anyone. She was fortunate enough to come across the dwarfs and they took her in. It's inaccurate to say she stayed in their cottage, just waiting for her prince. As far as she knew, that was her new 首页 considering her old 首页 was no longer 安全 and she didn't know anyone else. But, she pulled her own weight 由 cooking and cleaning. True, in the end she DID need a man, but that wasn't 由 choice 或者 anything. She was under a spell and couldn't exactly wake herself up with True Love's Kiss; even the most feminist of women can't pull off that trick. Blame the Evil 皇后乐队 for Snow White depending on a man- Snow White had nothing to do with it. Snow White is, hands down, the kindest of all the Princesses. Yes, she was also naive; but she was very young and had absolutely no real world experience. She was just being caring and helpful to someone she thought was in need. If anything, we could all use a little bit of Snow White in us; true no good deed goes unpunished, but that doesn't mean we should turn our backs on those in need. In this case, Snow White was a very good influence.

Aurora:

There really isn't too much to say about Aurora since she actually wasn't in the majority of her film. She was a lonely girl. All she had was her family; no friends, thinking she had no real chance at 爱情 或者 much of a future. So, she daydreamed about the life she wanted and I think most people can relate to that. True, it probably wasn't smart to talk to a man she had never met before, despite the fairies' warning. But, let's be honest: if any one of us were in her situation, we would do the EXACT same thing. I mean, who doesn't want to dance with a handsome, mysterious stranger in the woods? Her only real flaw was refusing to tell Phillip her name, but being 更多 than willing to tell him where she lived. As far as being independent, again, she was still young and didn't have much of a choice. The 精灵 most likely didn't give her a lot of freedom and then she was forced into the life of a princess. And, like, Snow White, the whole needing a man to save her wasn't exactly what she wanted. She was put under a curse that only a 吻乐队(Kiss) could break. There was nothing she could do for herself at that point. If anything, Snow White and Aurora only teach us that 你 need a man to rescue 你 if 你 happen to find yourself under a curse 由 a witch 或者 sorceress. But, let's be honest: how often does that really happen nowadays?

Cinderella:

One thing that bothers me is when everyone says Tiana is the first hard working princess. That's not true. Think about all the stuff 灰姑娘 had to do. She basically, single handedly took care of the house and held it together. If anything, 灰姑娘 is the most like stay at 首页 and single moms (Without the kids... unless 你 count the animals, which she also took care of 由 herself): overworked, never appreciated and completely under valued. 灰姑娘 lived with her family and made absolutely no money: she couldn't leave and start her own life. She was as independent as someone in her situation could be. Technically, she did need a man to "save" her, but she wasn't waiting around for him to do so. She had very little control over her own life, but it was her life and she had accepted it. Of course that didn't stop her from wanting more, like everyone else. She daydreamed about what it would be like to not be a servant anymore and treated as an equal. With very little exposure to the outside world, she couldn't really meet a man- so her only option was to go to the ball and hope he would choose her. Of course, it can be argued that 灰姑娘 could have just left and tried making it on her own. And that's true, she could have. But then that would have meant living in the streets until she somehow earned enough money to get her own place. But, let's be honest, hardly anyone actually hires homeless people.

One 更多 thing I think everyone really needs to keep in mind is that Snow White, Aurora and 灰姑娘 are women of very different times. Everyone is constantly judging them 由 how women are in the 21st century, but they're not supposed to represent women of today. Now, it's 更多 common for women to have a career and her own life before getting married. But, if a woman wants to get married, have a family, cook, clean and take care of the house, that's totally okay! Everyone gets one shot at life and if a girl wants to be 更多 like Snow White and less like Mulan, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. 迪士尼 电影院 are made for entertainment with some life lessons thrown in there, but they're not meant to be scripts for your life.

你 can still be kind like Snow White and still 加入 the Army like Mulan. 或者 be too trusting like Aurora and still stand up for what 你 believe in like Pocahontas. 你 can be the one taking care of the household every 日 like 灰姑娘 and still not need a man in your life like Elsa. Be whoever 你 are and live your life the way 你 want to; it doesn't matter if 你 happen to be 更多 like Snow White and less like Mulan. And don't let anyone tell 你 differently.

The 列表 of hottest 迪士尼 princes is finally here! As we know, 迪士尼 guys are mostly hotter than guys in real life, and I admittedly have a crush on 更多 than one of them. But let's see as a whole, who the 潮流粉丝俱乐部 community is crushing on.
I only have a little to write about each of the guys, because...come on. 你 all know as much as I do.

 The girly guy

9.The Prince
This nameless fellow was out pretty quickly in the first round. Dark brown hair, brown eyes, and of average height, this guy really is nothing special. A major turn off for most of the people who voted was his girly appearance,...

Snow White ___________________________

In the beginning of the Grimm's Tale Schneewittchen, Snow White's mother pricks her finger with a sewing needle and three drops of her blood fall onto the snow which lay on the ebony windowsill. Oddly enough, this made her long for a daughter of a similar color scheme. While this reflects the arc of the story: (white)innocence, (red)maturity & love, and (black)death, her name particularly represents a season when the world metaphorically sleeps only to be inevitably awakened with the coming of spring.

Yesterday morning, when I looked up information for Frozen's sequel,I found something that baffled my mind beyond belief. It was an article, which stated that Idina Menzel herself,is a supporter for making Elsa a lesbian and giving her a girlfriend.
Where the hell do I even begin with this idea...? Well, let's start with what my reaction towards it was.
When I first saw this yesterday,I was both sad and furious.Even when I had class in the morning,I couldn't shake this out of my head.I think this is even worse than that time they 说 they're going to 显示 a 更多 playful side of Elsa!
Before we...

Hi everyone, I just watched Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera just now. While watching, I noticed some similarities with Beauty and the Beast! Here are my observations.

The Story-line

As 你 may know, both stories are set in France, it also has a sad theme in it as it deals with a deformed person name Erik who wishes to be love. Ironically, the 作者 of The Phantom of the Opera is 由 Gaston Leroux, who happens to be the namesake villain of Disney's retelling of Beauty and the Beast. The rose also plays a symbolic role in both stories.
Secondly, the Stranger Than 你 Dream It scene...

Well,it's been a while since a wrote an article,huh?
It's not entirely my fault,it's just I that my life has its ups and downs and I had to deal with both of them in the past days.Plus, considering how long my 前一个 文章 was that I had to 分裂, 拆分 it into two parts,I needed some break from that.
But enough talk, let's get into the 文章 itself.
你 may not have known this, but I'm also a big Steven Universe fan. Most of that has to do with the fact of,you guessed it,how much it resembles Frozen.
Now technically,Steven Universe aired about one week before 《冰雪奇缘》 came out,but the similarities...

I haven't done a ranking in a while, so here ya go. This 文章 is dedicated to the amazing animators of 迪士尼 who gave us wonderful character designs and, sadly, unrealistic hair expectations! (*cries because my hair will never be as cool as DP hair*)

That being said, although every princess has beautiful hair, some manes are better than others. This is my opinion of their hairstyles, ranked worst to best.

12. Tiana

I find Tiana's hairstyles quite disappointing. As the first black princess, and being absolutely gorgeous at that, the animators could have done lots of cool things with letting...

Hello, everyone! This is the first installment of my new series analyzing the DPs' personalities according to the Enneagram system.

Introduction: Understanding the Enneagram

So, the Enneagram is a pretty complicated system of classifying personalities. Basically, everyone has a core type, expressed as a number of One through Nine. This is the most straightforward 描述 of someone’s personality.

Here’s a basic rundown of each type:
1: perfectionistic, rational, idealistic
2: generous, warm-hearted, nurturing
3: ambitious, image-conscious, charming
4: sensitive, dreamy, moody
5: cerebral,...

I know she's always typed as an Intuitive, especially an ENFP, and it's understandable why; I had once typed her as an ENFJ myself. She does, after all, just "know" the lights are "meant for me!" But is that really indicative of someone with strong intuitive preference? I think it's because this tendency for people to type nerdy/quirky/silly ESFJs as ENFPs, not only Rapunzel but characters like Steven Universe. It gets frustrating because that just implies only intuitives are inherently imaginative.

Anyway, to the typing:

Extroverted Feeling (Fe): Rapunzel is very warm to everyone she meets....

I really think he loses it, here... Raging at a person is not explaining to a person your personal view.

Triton is one of those dads in 迪士尼 that absolutely makes me squirm. I don’t 爱情 him, and I don’t hate him. But I do find him extremely unnerving, and on the same plane of Mother Gothel upsetting. He clearly alternates between being “nice” only sometimes, and then being really “explosively nasty” at other periods. King Triton’s rule is a patriarchy. I think his abusive tendencies, though, stem from insecurities he has within himself. Triton is afraid of the unknown. He's also afraid of not appearing “manly” enough. ( Bizarrely, this also makes me think of Prince Adam and...

I got inspired 由 laylastepford's link about which American Cities the 迪士尼 Princesses would live in and as I'm from Sweden I decided to write an 文章 about which Swedish Towns (since most falls into that category, only a few falls into the "city" category) each 迪士尼 Princesses would live in, it's hard to identify each town's personality so I based it on mostly other aspects. I haven't been to all these towns so I'm just basing on what I know about each town

Snow White: Alingsås

This town lays only about 30 分钟 train ride from Gothenburg and from what I've read and seen off...

Hello there! I'm ApplesauceDoctr here today with my third DP Song Analysis article. I've forgotten how much I enjoy 写作 these, and since I re-watched 《勇敢传说》 a few days ago, I thought I'd analyze one of its most notable songs -- "Into the Open Air".

Before we begin, thought I'd mention this -- the chorus occurs twice in the real song (the one 你 can purchase from the soundtrack), but only occurs once in the actual movie. The lyrics for the two are quite different, but because we only hear one version in the movie, I'll only discuss that one we hear. :D

This love, it is a distant star...

Ah yes. Merchandise. Money, in other words. I adore the 迪士尼 princesses. They are all unique, and have good qualities. Some are even a little complex and the majority are at least decent role models. That's not how 迪士尼 markets them. Well, unless their name is Anna 或者 Elsa. For the first 11 princess, they are downgraded into sparkle obsessed girls that look nothing like they did in their original film. Great princesses are forgotten in merchandise as well. The whole system is downright awful. For the 《冰雪奇缘》 sisters, 迪士尼 markets them as "I don't need a man". They tried that with Merida...

I realized that I've never written an 文章 with any of my 列表 in this club; so I wanna start with something that I really love: 迪士尼 Princesses' Outfits! I'm a big 粉丝 of 迪士尼 dresses, here's why I 爱情 cosplayers and to cosplay so much. It's wonderful to see an animated dress in person.
Well, about my article: I included just complete outfits, for example I kept out Ariel's rags because, in my opinion, this isn't even an outfit, 或者 Mulan's white dress she wears under her Matchmaker visit dress because they are part of the same outfit. So, I hope you'll enjoy my 列表 and tell me with...

9. Pocahontas
As some may know, I think Pocahontas is a really beautiful human being, in and out. But what I don't find beautiful about her is her ways of expression. When she speaks, it sounds like she's faking every type of emotion she's trying to express and the same goes to when she smiles.

8. Mulan
Mulan's smile feels held back so that's why she is in this placement. But I do think it's warm and natural, maybe not as ''impressive''...
