To those of 你 complaining about Naomi Scott being cast as 茉莉, 茉莉花 because she's half-Indian and "isn't Arab"

I can't even believe people have problems with this. It doesn't matter what race she is 或者 what country she's from, it matters if she looks like 茉莉, 茉莉花 and is a good actor and can play a good role. Social justice warriors are sad.

No one says anything about Jasmine's voice 女演员 is because they just provide the VOICE for the character, they don't see Linda Larkin 或者 Lea Salonga's face to represent the Middle Eastern character. I don't give a rat's 屁股 if someone of a different race provides the speaking/singing voice of a character. They found an Arab actor for Aladdin, so I don't see why they couldn't find one for Jasmine.

BTW I'm not even that pissed off about Naomi Scott having the role. I just would of rather seen a better representative. 你 seriously need to chill and accept that people are allowed to have opinions different from yours.

People need to take chill pill, but "movie buffs" rarely do that.

I didn't vote in that poll. I'm ignoring this the way I should have ignored the furor over Beauty and The Beast, and the furor that people are making over the 花木兰 remake plot choices with Shang apparently missing in action.

茉莉, 茉莉花 is a Middle Eastern, and Naomi, being an half-Indian and she is nothing look like Jasmine. Naomi looks 更多 like an Caucasian rather than an Arabic/Indian (maybe it's kind of whitewashing). It's kind of strange if 茉莉, 茉莉花 was played 由 someone who was not Arab while 阿拉丁 was. Think about how strange if POC character has to be played 由 someone who was half-Caucasian.

And what's the correlation about Naomi being complained to be not Arab with animated Jasmine's voice actresses? They don't see their races for voicing an animated character, all they need is a good voice. Voice actress works behind the screen so it doesn't really matter if she has different race. But the live-action one being a problem as she works front the camera.
