REAL princesses?

I'm sorry...I hate to be the jerk that asks this, but I'd like to have someone give me a real and detailed answer, please?

What makes 花木兰 或者 Pocahontas princesses?
Some people even say Meg and Esmeralda are princesses. Jane is even considered a princess to many fans.

花木兰 did not come from royal family nor did she marry a royal. Pocahontas I sort of understand, but she was a chief's daughter, and native Americans had many tribes with many leaders and their leaders typically weren't renowned as being royal.

As far as Meg goes, she got with a god, but not really a royal. Here's a least makes 更多 sense than Esmeralda who was just a gypsy who married a military man. Jane (Tarzan's Jane, not Wendi's daughter)...well...she married...A wild jungle man. King of the apes, maybe...? But still...

Don't get me wrong! I 爱情 all of the 迪士尼 leading ladies, but these girls I could see being called heroins; not princesses. If 你 wanted to talk about real princesses that are left out, what about Kida from Atlantis and Eilonwy from the black Cauldron? I don't hear much about them...
Even the animal ones could be considered princesses like Kiara from the Lion King 2? Heck, they call Bambi the prince of the forest, so wouldn't Feline be his princess?...Guess I should just focus on the human 问题 first, huh?

Anyways, I'm not trying to be a total jerk, but I really do want an explanation of why people call these girls 迪士尼 Princesses.

So 迪士尼 decided to consider to add them to the DP line up. I really don't know why, but this is what I've heard on the reason why they're considered as one. In my book they're not 迪士尼 princesses, but it really doesn't bother me.

As far as unofficial princess go, 粉丝 have all kinds of reasons why they consider them princesses. I go mostly 由 the playing a significant portrayal of heroinism rule.

All of those girls are kick-butt ! n_n Esmeralda and Kida are a couple of my 最喜爱的 迪士尼 characters and I do wish they would get 更多 attention. Oh, and I agree about the animals...I just ended up rambling in my question...sorry! Anyways, good answer to the question, so thank you!

Yeah, they call Pocahontas a princess in the 秒 movie. She calls herself a princess too. If that doesn't count, I heard that when they were making the movie Pocahontas, they were calling her a princess in the studio. *shrugs*
