So, I was was talking to a friend of mine and we were trying to figure our what fairy tale/ Legend should the 下一个 迪士尼 princess come from? So what do 你 think, the stories can be European, African, Asian, 或者 American (south 或者 north) origin.

Honestly, I think now that they've done Rapunzel, that pretty much completes the most famous of all the fairy tales with princesses. Because of that, it's truly hard to say. I think perhaps the last famous princess tale is "The Princess and the Pea", but the actual premise of the story is perhaps too whimsical.

Since Sleeping Beauty, 迪士尼 has moved further and further away from the 来源 material. The Princess and the Frog and 魔发奇缘 *barely* resemble their fairy tale counterparts. The same with Mulan, and the historical basis in the Pocahontas films is almost completely eschewed.

So it's hard to say. If I suggest a fairy tale like "The Six Swans", I could be quite sure the movie won't actually resemble the fairy tale. I'd like a fairy tale that doesn't resemble any of the others. While I 爱情 "East of the Sun, West of the Moon", the plotline is a bit too reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast. 帽 O' Rushes is one of my 最喜爱的 tales, but it strongly resembles Cinderella. Same with Donkeyskin.

I think, then, my choices rest with The 天鹅 Maiden and Six Swans. Rest assured, they don't resemble 天鹅 Lake. Both of them probably possess elements that could be easily adapted into a 更多 modern tale. The only element from either that reminds me of past 迪士尼 stories is from Six Swans, in that the main character cannot speak to her beloved for the majority of the tale. That said, the similarity ends there, and could easily be altered even further so it doesn't resemble The Little Mermaid.

I think they should do an aztec 或者 Japanese princess... That would be cool. 或者 even a New Zealand princess.

Where there is always the Princess and the Pea, and 7 Swans as mentioned earlier, but there's also the 12 dancing princess and The 鹅 Girl. & should 迪士尼 be in a revamping mood they could always tackle Rumpelstiltskin, 或者 Norse Mythology. Personally I feel the 7 swans may have better odds as 迪士尼 seems to be leaning away from the typical romance and 更多 towards family matters. As the last 2 princess 电影院 had no weddings.
