how do 你 define plagiarism?

i 逼债, 墩 want a dictionary definition, i would like your opinion of it.
because typically when we talk about it, its about copying work, idea from one.
if that is so then would the authors of twilight, vampire academy and vampire diaries be plagiarizing from each other?cause i mean they all start out the same.
so my 问题 is what do 你 consider plagiarism.

My definition is where 你 take someone else's idea 或者 work --word for word, pretty much -- and try and pass it off as your own idea 或者 work.

Vampire Diaries, Vampire Academy, and Twilight don't start out the same, and definitely not exactly the same. VA starts out with Rose and Lisa being found and dragged back to vampire school. VD starts off with Stephan coming to town and Ellena --the "queen bee" -- deciding she "wanted him." Twilight starts off with Bella moving to Forks, coming to a new school, and meeting Edward. Defintely not plagerism.

Also, some things cannot be plagerised because they are too general of an idea. Names, for example. A person moving to a new town. The main character being a blond.

I was taught that plagiarism is taking what someone else had written 或者 说 and made it your own with out acknowledging that they 说 it.

No the authors of all the vampire 图书 aren't plagiarizing because each of them is different and they didn't steal the words that the other 作者 had written and give the book a new name and saying that they wrote it.
