I can say with absolute certainty, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Delena are 100 percent ON this season. They. Are. HAPPENING. I always believed they were before, and I believe it even 更多 now that I've watched their scenes in 3x02. To anybody who's seriously doubted whether Delena will ever happen, all I have to say to them is: do 你 believe me now??
3x02 was a huge, amazing, epic episode for Delena. It surpasses every episode they've had except for maybe 2x08, 2x22 and 1x19.
Damon agrees to help Elena even though it could bring him into a potentially life-threatening situation. I can't see Damon doing this for anyone else except Elena and Stefan. Damon sees how determined Elena is, and how much she wants to find Stefan, and he loves her too much to tell her he's not getting involved and walking away.
Elena is dead set on finding Stefan, but when Damon's life is threatened, she abandons her search. In other words, for the first time, she chooses Damon's life over Stefan. When Damon returns, Elena gets out of the car and already seems to fear the worst. She is incredibly relieved when he confirms he is 'bite-free', and would have probably checked him over had Damon not hustled her into the car: 'Can 你 give me a 分钟 to appreciate the fact that you're not dead?'
The ending has a few parallels to 2x01 and 2x08: ('I was wrong,' Damon tells her, which is the 标题 of the song that was playing in the 'I 爱情 你 Elena' scene in 2x08. Elena cautiously asks 'Are 你 drunk?' similar to what she says in 2x01, 'Have 你 been drinking?') In a lot of ways, 3x02 is the scene 2x01 should have been, and parallels the end scene in 2x08 without the necklace, and Damon compelling her to forget. It also takes place in Elena's room, and begins with her walking in and finding him waiting for her there.
'You were so hell-bent on staying on that mountain, and then 你 just gave up. So what changed your mind?'
Elena doesn't give the real reason straight away 由 saying 'I was concerned about your safety.' Instead, she dithers for a bit, and makes it sound like it was a practical, logical choice rather than a personal one; 'We were under attack.' But Damon isn't buying it. They were prepared, and Alaric was wearing his ring. 'You could have kept going.' Once again, Elena stays with the 'dangerous' reason, but Damon won't let the subject drop. I believe that he already knows why Elena abandoned her pursuit of Stefan, but he wants to hear her say it.
'I didn't want 你 to get hurt, OK? I was...worried about you.' Oddly enough, Damon doesn't take this as his cue to push Elena into revealing any 更多 of her feelings for him as he might have once upon a time. He seems content with that, says thank 你 and is about to leave when Elena blurts out 'Yes, I worry about you. Why do 你 even have to hear me say it?'
'Because when I drag my brother from the edge and deliver him back to you, I want 你 to remember the things 你 felt while he was gone,' Damon tells her. This was a truly spine-tingling moment when I caught my breath because it looked like he was about to 吻乐队（Kiss） her - and Elena was going to 吻乐队（Kiss） him back, even if it was only for a moment. When Damon is going downstairs, Alaric shows up and asks her if she knows what she's doing. She doesn't. For once, she's not in control of her emotions, 或者 Damon 或者 herself. There's no doubt about it: Delena are soooo on.
