Help! I want to know if 你 celebrate Holloween like go trick 或者 treating for the 糖果 and thats it is that bad? I wanna know because I just go for the 糖果 and I'm a christian.
If the pagan roots of the holiday bother you, consider this-- The other name for 万圣节前夕 is "All Hallows Eve," because it's the night before All Saints Day, a Christian holiday.
Also, it's OK to indulge in a bit of the spookiness on Halloween. Years ago, before 电视 and the Internet, families would gather together on 圣诞节 Eve and tell ghost stories. Perfectly Christian families.
If you're the type of person who gets upset when their child celebrates Hanukkah with their Jewish friend, 或者 burns Harry Potter books, then maybe 你 won't be big on Halloween. But if that's the case, then in my opinion, your missing out on a lot of God's great gifts in life.
Well, my family stays in and watches a movie. Plus, if 你 only like 万圣节前夕 for the candy, 你 can do what I used to do: just go out and buy the candy. Sure it'll cost 你 a few bucks, but it's worth it :]
well, I did when I was younger. My brother still does. I don't really see how it's wrong. The Church hasn't taken a position on it saying it's bad 或者 it's ok, so I don't really see what's wrong with it. I mean, 你 dress up and go out to strangers' houses to get the free 糖果 they're giving out. It's not getting piercings 或者 纹身 或者 something like that. It's not stealing. It's just fun. If someone does know why exactly it could be considered wrong, could ya tell me?

It's sometimes considered wrong because it can border celebrating evil things if you're not careful.
Hmmm.... Tricky one this. I think it's fine as long as 你 don't indulge in the darker side of Halloween; that is, to dress up as something demonic 或者 evil. For example, this 年 if I get invited to a 万圣节前夕 party I'll go as a Samurai :)
Well I think It is find but maybe it depends on ur church... Cause the church I go too go trick 或者 treating too.... and I am a christian too but i sometimes dress up as like dead brides and witches and even Goths but is dat badddd? i dont think it is... but i have never dressed like a demon 或者 the devil.... i think it is a fun way to give and recieve
oh jeez, go get candy! the thing is, it's not bad to go trick 或者 treating, whats bad is celebrating the true reson of the celebration, (which cant realy be called a celabration) so go nuts, just make sure 你 dress up! -SongBird**

technically it started becouse of the reformation of the church at first it was called all hallows eve nov 1st is all saints 日
I think that 你 should be carful and to try and research 更多 about it because haloween isnt as innocent as as it seems. Little things like trick o treatin and celebrating at parties, even though 你 might look at it in a differnet way its still celebrating in a way haloween (a pagan festival)
I prayed to God and explained to Him where my 心 is when it comes time for Halloween. God already knows our hearts, but He wants us to talk to Him anyway! So my 心 in NOT into the devil crap (sorry!) and all the evil stuff! It's just a FUN day, a 日 that is not like any other!! A different 日 from the norm!! 糖果 is yummy and dressing up is fun!! Oh and I'm against people who dress up like a priest. Not only is it bad taste, but priests are men of God.
Well, I'll say this. I don't celebrate Halloween. I used to when I was younger, but I don't any more. Whether there is anything wrong with just going for the 糖果 或者 not, I don't know. I do know this: The Bible says we are to obstain from all appearances of evil, and going trick-or-treating can appear... evil, if 你 will. Now I'm saying we make 100s at it, but it's just something to think about. Hope I've helped. Truthfully, it's just something you'll have to pray about and answer for yourself.
Personally, I don't see the issue with trick 或者 treating. Some have an issue with the roots of the holliday but many of our celebrated hollidays have roots in alot of different places and religions. I think it's a personal choice..if a person celebrates Haloween to "celebrate the Devil" in any way..then there's obviously a conflict with Christianity. However, if a person just has fun on that 日 由 trick 或者 treating 或者 hanging out with loved ones 或者 friends..then I really don't see the issue.
I agree that as long as 你 don't celebrate the darker aspects of the holiday, if you're just going to have fun with 老友记 and get some candy, it's fine. When I was younger I wasn't allowed to dress as anything demonic, but I did go as a Powerpuff girl, a tiger, and the tooth fairy. 你 can even turn it into something better. Now on 万圣节前夕 I still dress in costume and go out and trick-or-treat for canned goods before having a horror movie marathon.
Anyway, I think as long as you're not dressed as anything demonic, you're good to go.
Well my family doesn't let me 或者 my sisters trick-or-treating anymore. They use to let me and my older sister(I'm 秒 out of five and my siblings didn't exist yet) go out when we were younger. After that, I guess my family realized how evil it was, they 说 that little innocent children that were specially born and didn't have any records at all, would be killed as a sacrifice to Satan. Even though that happens, I wish my other sisters knew how much fun trick-or-treating can be .
