"Now, remember, this is the world if we win it." The Doctor 说 as everybody stepped out into a clearing in a forest. They could see far away houses and a large fence some few meters ahead of them. It was clearly a bright, summer day, because it was very, very hot and moist.
"Where are we?" Villy asked.
"North America." The Doctor Answered. "In the Appalachia, to be exact. On the border of Pennsylvania to be very exact." He kept on speaking as he walked around and observed everything. "After the Big Wave, which is what they call the huge wave of natural disasters, caused 由 our war with Lucifer, the planet changed. Lots of people died, of course, and many areas of land have been flooded 或者 destroyed. Hundreds of years later, North America formed a new government, a new nation. They called it Panem. It consists of 14 regions; 13 districts and a Capitol as the head of the government. Right now, we are in district 12, which is in what we know as the Appalachia, and in The Seam, which we know as Pennsylvania's border with New York. If 你 look to that side," he pointed behind everyone, to the forest. "There used to be New York, now it's District 13. Or, used to be District 13. I'm confusing you, aren't I?"
"Maybe just a bit." Diana sarcastically said.
"Good. Because this is where it gets interesting." He happily said. "Years after Panem formed, the 13 districts rebelled against The Capitol. The Capitol destroyed District 13, and the rest gave up soon after, since that district was the main force behind the rebellion. To 显示 its power and strong hold of the nation, the Capitol created something called The Hunger Games. In The Hunger Games, two children from twelve to eighteen years are reaped, 或者 chosen, to compete for life in an arena, and they're televised. In other words, 24 children, twelve males and twelve females, are chosen to fight for survival and kill each other in a televised show. Only one tribute, contestant, wins."
There's a moment of silence as the girls and everyone else absorbed and tried to understand what he just said.
"Wait…" 说 Sara. "So, you're saying, even if we win this war… there will just be… 更多 war?"
"There will never be world peace." 说 Rose. "But would 你 rather this world being able to rule inself, even in an unfair way, 或者 rather it be ruled 由 Lucifer?"
"But, they're murdering themselves anyways." Atie said.
"The Hunger Games will stop." 说 The Doctor. "A girl will stop it. But that doesn't mean everything bad in the world will stop. Chaos's come and go, but if we let Lucifer win, they'll be here for the rest of eternity."
Rachel broke the awkward silence. "Then, why are we here, exactly? To lighten the mood?"
"I just figured to 显示 you", the Doctor seemed a bit disappointed.
"You spoke of a girl", Emily said. "The one who would save everyone. Can we meet her?"
The Doctor and Rose exchanged glances. "Why?" Rose asked.
"Why not?" Villy shook her shoulders. "We're here, might as well make the best of it."
The Doctor nodded. "Well, we'll walk", he 说 happily, starting to lead the group. Getting past the fence would be difficult, but he liked this place, the forest. He always had.
"Rachel", Diana pulled Rachel 由 her sleeve, making them fall to the back of the group.
"What?" she asked in confusion.
"I talked to Jack", Diana said.
"Jack?"
"Jack Sparrow. The pirate. Captain. Crazy shit", Diana 说 impatiently. "Anyway, he told me that once we're done with this place, we gotta go save this one guy."
"Why?"
"Stop asking stupid questions", Diana snapped. "The point is that we're gonna have to persuade the Doctor to take us to Westeros next."
"What is Westeros?" Rachel asked impatiently. She pulled away a little. "Look, honestly? I don't give a shit where we go."
"You would if 你 knew what would await 你 in Westeros", Jack walked over to them lazily with a smirk on his face.
"That's nice. I seriously cannot wait", Rachel 说 plainly. "How do 你 know all this anyway?"
"I have my ways", Jack smiled happily.
“Uh-huh”, Diana 说 in amusement before turning to look at Rachel. “Look, I know you’re angry cause your boyfriend dumped 你 and you’re all sad, boohoo. We’re in the future that a time machine took us to. Can 你 just forget about the other things for a little bit?”
Rachel sighed, turning to look at Jack. “Will 你 excuse us for a moment?”
Jack gave a hurried nod and then stumbled a bit further away.
“The thing is..”, Rachel walked forwards. “I’m not upset. About Bruce. I’m not. He called me a slut and dumped me, yes. It’s happened to me countless of times before. And maybe this time I even deserved it. The point is..”, she groaned. “I am okay with it. I hurt him, he hurt me. It was a twisted relationship and we’re both better off”, she knew Diana would probably not believe her, but she was telling the truth.
Diana believed her. She had known Rachel long enough to know when she was lying – 更多 to herself than to Diana – and when she was telling the truth. She gave her friend a smile. “Then I’m happy for you.”
“And 你 and Tony?” Rachel asked. “How is that 爱情 fest going?”
“Eh”, Diana muttered. “I feel like we were co-depending on 你 and Bruce and now that 你 and Bruce are over..”
“That is kind of twisted”, Rachel smirked.
“Granted, it is. But..”, Diana looked ahead to see the rest of the group walking. She caught a glimpse of Tony. “I don’t know. Right now I don’t even care.”
“Good girl”, Rachel smiled before gesturing for Jack to rejoin them. Which he did.
“So, Westeros”, Rachel said. “That sounds cool. Who are we gonna save?”
“Actually we’re gonna save three people”, Jack gave them an enthusiastic smile. “Two stops. One in King’s Landing and one at the Crossing.”
“I’ve got no fucking clue what those places are”, Rachel said.
“You will”, Jack said. “You both will.” He looked at them knowingly.
His know-it-all looks amused Diana as they caught up with the rest of the group. But in truth he’d gotten her curious. What was so important in Westeros that they just had to save? And he did mention in had something to do with Crowley.
They had been walking for about an 小时 before the first complaint flew. It came from Lydia. And then it was Atie’s turn, then Damon, then Dean, then Ines, then Caroline and then everyone was begging for them to just “BE THERE!” already.
“But isn’t the forest beautiful?” the Doctor asked in confusion.
“It’s quite lovely, yes”, Marty 说 patiently. “But 你 说 你 were taking us to some savior girl.”
“Relax, we’re here”, the Doctor said, stopping at the fence.
“And how do we get past that?” Ines asked.
“Jump?” Dean joked.
Villy rolled her eyes and pointed at the hole at the bottom. “We crawl. Right?”
“Yes”, the Doctor said. “Sure, we could have taken the Tardis here, but I like the forest. And”, he rushed to add before protests caught his ears again. “And the guards would have noticed a blue box sitting in their town.”
"I can help." Emily said. "If I can control electricity, I can stop it. At least enough to buy us time"
Everyone nodded. “And the guards won’t notice tens of people walking around, then?” Meredith asked.
“There are a lot of people in the town. But your clothes..”, Rose eyed them. “Are a bit colorful.” In truth they were, so Rose grabbed the backpack she’d had with her and opened it. Hermione had cast a very useful spell on it and then she started throwing pieces of clothings at everyone. Simple things like jackets, jeans, boots. Anything non-colorful, sexy 或者 in any way attention-seeking. “You’ve got plenty of privacy to change in the bushes”, she said, and so everyone went their own way.
Atie had just finished putting a jean 夹克 on her as Damon emerged from behind the trees with a smirk on his face. “That’s too bad, I was hoping to catch 你 while 你 were a bit more.. indecent”, he wrapped an arm around her and smiled.
Atie blushed a little. “This place, what do 你 think of it?”
Damon paused before answering: “I think that this place.. Well, it’s interesting, of course, but I think the sooner we’re out of here, the better.”
“And what will 你 do when this is all over?” Atie asked gently, laying her hands on Damon’s chest. “Go back to your old life?”
“I can’t even remember my old life anymore. I’ve lived so many”, Damon said, his eyes on Atie. “Maybe it’s time to start a new one.”
At this Atie smiled brightly.
Emily was just about to do her magic when they heard a voice shout: “Doctor!” and then they turned around to see a pretty, young girl with brown hair staring at them from 由 the fence. She was carrying a bow and arrow. “I wasn’t expecting you.”
The Doctor gave Katniss a smile. They’d met a few times in the past. “I told 你 I’d bring company the 下一个 time I come by.”
“Well, if this is your definition of company, I’ll have to rethink inviting 你 over for supper”, Katniss said, eyeing the group. “I’m Katniss Everdeen.”
No one 说 anything. Saying their names all at the same time would seem downright silly.
“Alright, well, what’s up?” Katniss crossed her arms, looking at the Doctor. He gave her a smile.
“I think there are a few people here who you’d like to meet. And after that, how would 你 like coming with us on a trip?”
“Where to this time?” Katniss asked.
“Westeros”, the Doctor said, surprising Jack, Diana and Rachel. How did he know?
Katniss nodded as she walked over to the group. “Any of 你 know how to hunt?”
“I do”, Legolas said.
“We do”, Sam and Dean said. “Though perhaps not in the sense 你 mean..”
“I do”, Emily said. “My dad took me hunting a few times. I.. I’m Emily”, she gave Katniss a tense smile. She looked a tad intimidating.
Katniss nodded. “You follow me, then”, and so she begun to walk deeper into the woods, Emily trying to keep up with her quick pace.
“What’s up with that?” Diana asked, turning to look at the Doctor.
“Katniss knows me, and she usually knows that I bring people with me, and when I do, she knows who she should be paying attention to.”
“Why Emily? Don’t tell me this is some other freaky psycho witch doppelganger thing”, Damon groaned. “I’m kind of sick of those.”
“It’s not”, the Doctor said. “I know this term.. may seem a bit 迷失 to you, but Katniss is merely being friendly. Now make yourselves comfortable, we’ll be staying the night in the forest."
Emily felt a bit awkward trying to keep up with the girl. She seemed like the sort of person who knew exactly what she was doing every moment of the day.
"So", she 说 as they walked. "You're Katniss? You're gonna.. save the world?"
"I don't know why the Doctor says that", Katniss 说 quietly. "I'm not a savior."
Emily smiled at this. That was what saviors always said.
"Anyway, I'm Emily. I'm.. Well, I'm certainly not a savior either, but-"
"The Doctor 说 that the 下一个 time he'd come, he'd be bringing Cambins with him. 你 are one, I reckon."
Emily 说 nothing. She still didn't completely understand this.
"You've got a lot of friends", Katniss 说 as she spotted a bird sitting in a tree. She tensed her bow, aimed and hit the target. The dead bird flew to their feet.
Katniss grabbed the bag she had with her and put the bird there.
Emily looked in awe, forgetting that she had a 问题 to answer to.
At this Katniss actually smiled. "They're not your friends?"
Emily choked back a nervous chuckle as she asked: "What?"
"I 说 that 你 brought a lot of 老友记 with you."
"Oh, yes, I.. I originally just had eleven 老友记 with me. We were travelling in London-"
"What year?"
"2013. We were just on a vacation when this group of superheroes grabbed us because apparently we'd started the apocalypse 或者 something."
"It happens", Katniss made a dry joke, but it made both of them laugh all the same.
"How did 你 meet the Doctor?" Emily asked.
"When I met him, he didn't look like he does now. He was a man with an unfortunate chin and a crazy bowtie. But he was the same man all around. He told me the story of him, how he can change his face, how he travels around the universe. He always 说 he'd be back, and he always was. One way 或者 another", Katniss shrugged. "At a time like this 你 can use all the 老友记 你 can get. No matter how insane."
Emily nodded in amusement. The Doctor was quite insane.
"Do 你 have any idea what he wants of me this time?" Katniss asked.
"I.. I figured you'd know", Emily confessed.
"Nah. He just 说 that I'd have an important person to meet the 下一个 time he shows up. Someone named Emily", she turned to look at Emily. "He 说 we'd be good friends."
Emily could scarce believe it. Why would it be her, out of all the people, who Katniss would become 老友记 with? What was so special about her?
She merely smiled, hiding her thoughts. "Well, I'm told I'm an excellent friend."
"I'm told I'm a crappy one. So we'll be a good team", Katniss smirked.
The night flew 由 quickly. For once there were no dangers in the woods, and even if there would be, Sam and Dean stayed up all night to make sure nothing would happen. Occasionally some of the girls woke up and kept watch with them. Mostly Aria and Villy.
"So", the Doctor 说 as dawn broke. Everyone was still half-asleep, but he was energetic as always. "Katniss", he turned to the girl who was already standing up from the ground she'd slept on. She was used to spending time in the forest. "We shall come back in a few years again."
"What, that's it?" Emily asked in disbelief. What the hell was the point of this?
"Yes", Rose said. "You'll understand eventually. We're on a tight sceduale", she said. "Next stop, a few years in the future and then Westeros."
"What is Westeros?" Atie asked in confusion as they all stood up.
The Doctor and Rose exchanged looks before turning to look back at the girls. "A necessary place to visit."
"How can we be running out of time? You've got a time machine", Emily was still a bit irritated they had to leave so soon. There was something about this place she liked. Despite the Hunger Games.
The Doctor opened his mouth to speak, then closed it and smirked. "That is a good question. Let's go." He nodded at Katniss, who gave them a wave. It was clear she was used to this.
"Well", she turned to look at Emily. "I'll be seeing 你 guys in a few years, then."
Emily nodded, taking something out of her pocket. It was a simple bracelet. "Take this. And give it back to me in a few years."
Katniss looked at the bracelet in confusion. "Why?"
"Because if we're gonna be friends, I suppose we should start 表演 like ones", Emily smiled before following the rest out of the forest.
"Can I just say how pointless that all was?" Damon complained as they all got inside the Tardis again.
"Will 你 shut your fucking mouth?" Clint groaned. "At least 你 don't get Tardis-sick."
"Ha! Tardis-sick", the Doctor smirked in delight. "That is a wonderful word."
"Experiencing it isn't as glamurous", Clint said.
While the Doctor reset the coordinates, Diana took the time to go under deck again and look around the Tardis. She just couldn't get enough of the place.
Just as she was looking over the Doctor's funky wardrobe again, the door opened. She expected it to be Rachel 或者 Rose 或者 someone, but as she turned around, she saw it was Jackson. She cursed herself when her 心 skipped a beat.
"Hi", he 说 with that gorgeous smile on his face.
"What are 你 doing here?" Diana asked in suspicion.
"Just looking around. What do 你 think was the point of that visit, exactly?" Diana could tell that Jackson was just trying to make conversation, but she felt a bit light-headed.
"I think that nothing the Doctor does has any point whatsoever", she smiled.
Jackson smirked. "True. So..", he walked a bit closer. "Can I be honest with you?"
"Yes", Diana 说 suspiciously.
"The fact that 你 have not been hanging out with your boyfriend that much ever since 你 met me is quite suspicious to say the least."
Diana both hated and loved his confidence. She rolled her eyes. "Jackson, get over yourself. Not all girls cling to their boyfriends with everything they have. I have friends, too. Other things in my life."
"Am I your friend?" Jackson asked, and Diana could not help but to notice how close they were.
Diana took a moment to gather herself before saying: "No", with a smile on her face as she left the room.
Meanwhile Dean and Villy were walking around the Tardis deck as the time machine moved through time and space.
"What number am I thinking of?" Dean asked as they walked.
"What?" Villy asked in amusement.
"Oh, I don't know, I feel like if you're some half angel, 你 ought to be able to read my mind."
Villy snorted. "I doubt it works like that." She turned around and walked closer to him, wrapping an arm around him. "Can I ask 你 a question?"
"Yes", Dean smiled.
"Would 你 rather be somewhere with Sam, driving that car of yours, hunting monsters? This seems like a bit out of your.. area. Staying still."
"We're not exactly staying still, are we?" Dean chuckled.
Villy had actually wanted to ask if he was serious about them, but she didn't dare.
"I.."
But apparently Dean understood. He lifted her chin up with his finger and smiled. "I never do anything I don't want to do, darling. And if I would not want to be here with you, right now, I wouldn't be."
Villy smiled at this, and just as they were about to kiss, the Tardis stopped and the Doctor shouted out: "WE ARE HERE!"
Dean groaned, but Villy merely smirked, pulling him out with her.
Everyone got out, one 由 one, and as they looked around, they all noticed that there was something very different about the place. They weren't even 由 the forest anymore. They were in some town, and people were walking around. Talking, smiling.
"Is this when..?" Emily turned to look at the Doctor.
"After Katniss saved the world? Yes. There was a rebellion, and she was leading it. A lot of people died, a lot of good people, a lot of not-good people, but in the end humanity won. The Hunger Games are over."
"That they are", they turned around to see the familiar figure standing a few feet from them. Katniss.
She smiled. "You kept your promise, didn't you, Doctor?"
"I always do."
"Come on", she gestured for everyone. "I want 你 guys to meet a few people."
Emily walked forwards to walk 下一个 to Katniss. "Hi. Was it... bad?"
Katniss' face tensed and Emily could tell she didn't want to talk about it, but she merely shrugged. "It was all for the greater good. The games are over. The world is finally somewhat in peace."
Emily nodded. That truly was for the greater good.
"You're wearing the bracelet", she noticed suddenly. In Katniss' left wrist was the bracelet Emily had 给 her.
Katniss lifted her wrist and smiled. "Well, it's a nice bracelet. Do 你 want it back?" she asked.
"No", Emily found herself saying. "I gave it to you."
Katniss nodded with a smile on her face. She couldn't quite understand why, but she did consider Emily a friend even though this was the 秒 time they were meeting.
"Peeta! Haymitch!" Katniss shouted suddenly, gesturing for two people Emily could not quite make out in the crowd of people to 加入 them. "Wait 'till 你 meet them", Katniss smiled.
Two men walked towards the group. They didn't look that confused at the sight. Emily figured Katniss had filled them in on everything. And perhaps they'd seen much crazier things in their lives already.
The other one, the older one, had messy blonde hair that hung on his face. He had some handsome features, but in truth he looked a bit worn out.
He looked at the people in front of him suspiciously. "These are the 老友记 你 spoke of, Katniss?" he asked.
"Yes", Katniss said.
Emily's eyes moved to the other one, the younger one. He was a tad shorter and had short blonde hair and nice features. In truth Emily thought he looked quite innocent. In a cute way.
"Guys, this is Haymitch", Katniss gestured at the older man. "He was the one who trained me for the Hunger Games and yes", she rolled her eyes. "Saved my life a few times."
Haymitch 说 nothing, just chuckled awkwardly. Perhaps he wasn't that used to positive feedback.
"And this is Peeta", 由 the way Katniss 说 the younger man's name it was clear that she loved him. And from the way Peeta looked at Katniss it was clear that he loved her back. Emily smiled.
"It's nice to meet 你 all", Peeta said. "Katniss told us.. things about you." He eyed the Doctor, making it clear he had heard a few quite crazy things about him.
"Is that the Tardis?" Haymitch interrupted, pointing at the blue box.
"That it is", Katniss said. She turned to look at the Doctor. "Doctor, I sort of promised them.. a ride in it."
The Doctor didn't seem surprised. He did know everything, didn't he?
"That is quite fine, Katniss", he 说 as he walked forwards. "Would 你 two gentlemen like to 加入 us in Westeros?"
"Westeros?" Peeta asked in confusion.
"Another universe", Katniss 说 dismissively. "Will it be a long trip?"
"Aye", Jack Sparrow came from the middle of the group of people.
"How do 你 know everything?" Diana asked in frustation.
Jack merely smirked smugly.
"Well, what do 你 say?" the Doctor asked.
"I'd 爱情 to go", Katniss said. "Especially now that we're finally.. free. Peeta?"
"I'll go", Peeta nodded with a smile on his face, tangling his fingers with Katniss'.
Haymitch shrugged. "Haven't got anything better to do. Let's go."
Diana couldn't help but to feel a bit excited. They were finally going to the infamous Westeros.
She exchanged looks with Rachel as they walked.
"Do 你 think Jack was lying when he 说 there'd be something special for me there?" Rachel asked.
"No", Diana said. "Perhaps you'll find a unicorn and you'll train it and it'll become your very own pony", she smirked.
Rachel laughed at this. It felt nice to laugh again.
And so they got inside the Tardis, ready for yet another adventure.
"Where are we?" Villy asked.
"North America." The Doctor Answered. "In the Appalachia, to be exact. On the border of Pennsylvania to be very exact." He kept on speaking as he walked around and observed everything.
