Over the 下一个 couple of days everything seemed as usual but little slips started to happen with regard to the secret.

The first one to make a slip was Charlie. He did not even know it until someone questioned him. He had taken a phone call for Booth from Dr. Brennan and he had written a message that said. ‘Agent Booth your wife called and she would like 你 to come to check the results on the fourteen dead wives.’ He was just about to put it on Booth’s 台, 办公桌 when he realized what he wrote. He quickly tossed the note away and rewrote it but he had missed the trash can when he tossed it and another agent in the office picked it up and read it. The person, Clarice Stevenson, who read it, asked Charlie about it and so Charlie let her in on the secret but only after she promised not to tell anyone. Unfortunately Clarice was known to be the biggest gossip in the entire bureau.

At the Jeffersonian, Cam and Angela were talking about the marriage and not realizing that Wendell was within hearing range. He was on the platform just above them when Cam had said. “I’m going to have to ask Dr. Brennan to change her employment records to 显示 her marital status as married.” Before Angela could say anything Wendell 说 in his loud youthful voice. “Dr. Brennan is married? Who did she marry?”
Angela and Cam quickly tried to tell him to keep his voice down but it was too late other people on the platform heard.

Three days later another strange corpse was found in an abandoned warehouse and Booth and Brennan were called to investigate. The body was sitting in an old vintage car that was stored in the warehouse. As 识骨寻踪 was examining the body, Marcus was checking for particulates and another FBI tech was examining the car. As Booth asked 识骨寻踪 about the corpse, 识骨寻踪 was telling Marcus what she wanted him to look for. As 识骨寻踪 went to talk with Booth, Marcus remarked to the other tech that Booth and Brennan do make a strange couple. The other tech, Joan, who had worked with Booth and Brennan on the motorcycle racer murder said. “Yes they are unusual partners.”
Marcus responded. “It is hard to picture them married to each other.”
Joan: “They’re married?”
Marcus: “Yes but don’t let anyone know.”
Booth could see the techs looking at him and 识骨寻踪 but did not know what they were saying and so had no idea that they knew about the marriage.

Within a week 更多 people were aware of the marriage. A few people were still in the dark and one of them was Sweets. He had called them into his office for their normal therapy session and asked has anything unusual happened since the last time they were in his office. Booth and 识骨寻踪 looked at each other and in unison said. “No.”

Sweets was telling his theory about why the suspect married so many women but then murdered them. He suggested that the man liked being married but could not handle the responsibilities and conflicts of married life. All of a sudden Booth’s phone rang which as usual annoyed Sweets. At the end of the call, Booth 说 he needed to leave to complete some paperwork for the DA. Brennan 说 that she had to ask Sweets some 问题 and she will see Booth later. Booth left the room to go to his office.

Brennan: “I have to ask wouldn’t it have been easier to get a divorce.”
Sweets: “Well then he might be admitting to failure. Failure in the marriage 或者 it could be against his religion.”
Brennan: “What do 你 mean?”
Sweets: “Well for example a Catholic cannot get a divorce for fear of excommunication.”
Brennan: “What if only one of the married couple is Catholic and the other, who is not, wants to get a divorce?”
Sweets: “It doesn’t matter the one who is Catholic will be forced to leave his church. Was the suspect Catholic?”
Brennan: “I don’t know but maybe that was why he didn’t want a divorce.”

Brennan left Sweets office aware of what she thought was the reason behind Booth not wanting to get a divorce. He could have told her that it was because of his faith. She then realized that if he had told her she would have scoffed at him and make some 评论 that would hurt him. She knew she could not ever get a divorce now because she would never do anything to hurt Booth. But then again what if they are not really married, then nothing needs to happen and everything will go back the way it has always been. This thought somehow left Brennan feeling despondent.

As Brennan entered her office the 下一个 日 she saw a letter from Carol, her project manager on the bridge she was having built for the city of Huntsville. She opened the letter and read it. She quickly put in a call to Carol and discussed the contents of the letter. It seems that the bridge is almost done and will be officially opened in two weeks and the residents of the city would like her to attend the ribbon cutting. Brennan checked her calendar and noted the date. She told Carol she would call her back if she could make the ceremony.

That night while Brennan and Booth were having 晚餐 at the Royal Diner, she mentioned the ribbon cutting ceremony for the bridge to Booth.
Booth: “Bones that’s amazing. 你 should be proud of yourself. 你 saved this town and I think 你 should go to the opening of the bridge.”
Bones: “Well Carol did say that they would really like me to attend.”
Booth: “Then 你 should go.”
Bones: “Come with me.”
Booth: “It’s your day.”
Bones: “I would really like 你 to be there with me.”
Booth: “Of course Bones, I will come. Besides we can see little Andy again.”
识骨寻踪 smiled at the idea of having Booth with her at the ceremony. She wanted him to be there because this was a result of a case they had worked on in that town.

The 下一个 week went fairly fast as Brennan was working on identifying some remains from limbo. She had just finished with a soldier, which she identified as a former MIA from the Korean War when she received a call from Booth asking her to come to his office as soon as possible. She let Cam know she was going to the FBI building and would be back after she has talked with Booth.

As she entered Booth’s office she could see that he had a serious expression and as soon as she sat down he went to shut the door.
Booth: “Well it is now official.”
Bones: “What’s official?”
Booth: “Our marriage has been officially recorded in the county hall of records. That means we are legally married.”
Bones: “So what do we do?”
Booth: “Well what ever we do we should consider the other squints and our working partnership.”
Bones: “Do 你 think they would 分裂, 拆分 us up and we won’t be able to work together?’
Booth: “Think about it Bones. If we stay married, married couples are not allowed to work together in the FBI. If we end the marriage, they could separate us thinking that we could not work well together because of our past relationship.”
Bones: “That is not true.”
Booth: “Bones that would be their rationale.”
Bones: “Booth I won’t work with any other FBI agent.”
Booth: “Bones 你 may not have a choice.”
Bones: “I am an independent contractor for the Jeffersonian, I don’t work for the FBI and they can’t force me.”
Booth could see she was getting upset 由 the look on her face. He knew that they would have to first make a decision about the marriage. He was reluctant to mention it, but he knew he had to because he needed to know what she wanted to do. He knew he wanted her but did she want him. He wanted to get up out of his chair, go over to her and 包, 换行 his arms around her but he saw that a number of people in the outer office were watching them.

Booth: “Bones we need to talk about this in 更多 private location.”
Bones: “Your right. Let’s talk about it this weekend when we go to Huntsville for the opening of the bridge.”

识骨寻踪 left Booth’s office in deep thought. She needed to talk with someone but who could she talk to. Usually she talks with Booth 或者 Angela but Booth is involved and Angela does not know about the marriage. She thought about talking with Max, her dad but then she remembered Booth’s grandfather, Hank. He had told her once not to be afraid and that everyone needs someone. She made a plan to go see him tomorrow morning. Besides even if he knows about our marriage he won’t say anything to anyone other than perhaps Booth.

The 下一个 日 识骨寻踪 was sitting with Hank in the retirement 首页 telling him about the marriage and that Booth had 给 her this ring. Hank looked at the ring and told her.
“I remember the 日 I gave it to my wife. How I loved her. Temperance, if Booth gave 你 the ring it was for a crystal-clear reason and 你 should know it.”
Temperance: “All I know is that Booth 说 he wanted me to wear it.”
Hank: “So 你 are wearing the wedding ring 虾 gave you. Have 你 ever taken it off?”
Temperance: “No.”
Hank: “So 你 never thought about taking it off after he put it on your finger not even once.”
Temperance: “No not even once.”
Hank: “Well that should answer your question.”
Temperance looked at Hank with a quizzical look on her face and then she looked at the wedding ring. She slides it off her finger and looks 更多 closely at it. She sees the inscription and mentions. “The inscription is beautiful.”
Hank: “Temperance there was never an inscription in the ring before. What does it say?”
Temperance looks at Hank and realizes that the inscription was written 由 Booth. She quickly slips the ring back on her finger. Temperance says goodbye to Hank and heads back to the Jeffersonian where she runs into Angela.
Angela: “Sweetie, what’s on your mind? 你 seem distracted.”
Brennan: “Angela, I’m just having a quandary that I need to resolve and I have to consider a number of factors.”
Angela: “Bren, 你 over think everything. Just for once let your emotions take charge. Give into your inhibitions.”
Brennan: “But what if it is not right?”
At this point, Angela knew that if she does not say anything about the marriage, Brennan will analyze it out of existence.
Angela: “Brennan, remember marriage is for better 或者 worse and being married to Booth believe me is for the better.”
Brennan looked at Angela and was about to disavow the marriage when Angela said. “Don’t bother to deny it we all know it’s true.”
Brennan: “How and who knows?”
Angela: “We saw the certificate. Cam, Hodgins, Wendall, Agent Burns and just about everyone in the Jeffersonian and the FBI know except Sweets, Hacker and a few others.”
Brennan: “But no one 说 anything.”
Angela: “We knew 你 two were thinking about your working partnership and we all wanted to help keep the secret.”
Brennan sat dumbfounded. Everyone knows and no one 说 a word. She looked at Angela and said. “You all knew.”
Angela: “Now tell me did 你 plan it 或者 did it happen on impulse?
Brennan: “Angela I need to tell Booth that everyone knows. Can we talk about this later?”
Angela: “Sure sweetie but don’t try to get out of it because that man is really in 爱情 with you.”
Brennan: “Angela I need to make arrangements for this coming weekend.”
After Angela left her office, Brennan was thinking about what Angela had 说 about Booth being in 爱情 with her. She was looking at the ring Booth had 给 her and made up her mind of what to do. Brennan made a quick phone call to Carol and asked her if she could change something for her at the ceremony. Carol let her know that it would be taken care of.
