It's mostly the 'outsiders' (people who have no knowledge about Bollywood and India) who say that Bollywood movies are 'cheesy', which isn't true. I love the cheesy ones. Although I never referred them as 'cheesy'.

@ WithAChildHeart: I agree with you completely! Many of the films, as dramatic as they may seem, actually do portray a lot of the culture of India. If you've seen the movie Khabie Kushi Khabie Gham (I'll try my best not to spoil it), it portrays what would actually happen to a son who disappointed his parents. I know because it happened to some of my cousins.

I also agree with WithAChildHeart, but even when they are cheesy I still love them.

No, they have a lot more depth than hollywood films. it teaches good values compared to the corrupt value system of the west namely hollywood
