I learnt that before I learnt English, which is kind of weird considering I was born in England and have lived here all my life but hey, I'm not complaining! It makes learning other languages easier =]

And Momoko, I'm an Indian, aka a Hindustani. Hinduism is the religion (I know I'm a Hindu). And if you're referring to Hindi to mean the same as Indian (as in a person) then that term is not widely used anymore for that purpose, but for the language. Tamil is what is spoken in South India. Hindi is more of a universal language in India, but still more popular in Northern India, especially in regions like Maharashtra. I would appreciate it if you had gotten your facts right beforehand. Thank you. =]

I understand half of it. Strange enough that my father speaks fluently Hindi. I was raised with Tamil (and English and German).
