芭比娃娃 and the Three Musketeers is based on a French historical novel 由 Alexandre Dumas. Instead of switching the sexes again, this film is set after the original novel, and Barbie's character Corinne is the daughter of the original novel's protagonist d'Artagnan.

Barbie: The Princess & the Popstar is based on Mark Twain's The Prince and the pauper, but like 芭比娃娃 as the Princess and the Pauper, the sexes are changed. Unlike the aforementioned 芭比娃娃 film, The Princess and the Popstar is 更多 modern, and makes references to the earlier 芭比娃娃 film with it's similarities and the remix of "To Be a Princess".

Though 芭比娃娃 in the 粉, 粉色 Shoes is an original story, it features three ballets: Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker and 天鹅 Lake, and also Giselle. Giselle's 音乐 was composed 由 Adolphe Adam, and Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot created the choreography. The movie also features the Snow Queen, who may be the same Snow 皇后乐队 from Hans Christian Andersen's story of the same name, 或者 just a character inspired 由 her.
