Flickerflame picked 天使 becomes human:
These are the three main different outcomes I've seen to Bangel in fanfictions, and I was wondering which people preferred. It seems to be either:
1. Incorporating Angel's Shanshu
2. Keeping Angel as a vampire but rewriting the curse in some way so that they can be together
3. Buffy becomes a vampire and is either cursed or being a Slayer means she keeps her soul, then she and Angel get together as a vampire couple.

Or sometimes a combination of 1 or 2, with the curse being rewritten first and Angel turning human later.

I think that would be perfect solution for them, however we've seen in 'I Will Remember You' it didn't work so I would like to remove the 'didn't work' part ;) For all the time I was watching Angel I hold to the thought that the whole Shanshu prophecy is made for Bangel, so I must say i was quite disappointed when the idea did not work out [I'm sorry but it was so long ago I don't remember all of the details regarding it]. I would also like the option of Angel becoming human but keeping his super powers, but in the same time him & Buffy were able to grow old together ♥

IWRY is the main reason I'm torn between Angel becoming human and him remaining vampiric but Bangel still reuniting. Both versions have their pros and cons.

The way I see it, the Shanshu was definitely about Angel. It was introduced in Angel, not Spike, and Spike wasn't even ensouled when it was first mentioned! I also don't think it'd be possible for him to have really signed it away in Not Fade Away. I think that was more of a test, showing that he was fighting for the right reasons and not just for any reward.

cryptorchid picked Willow manages to rewrite Angel's curse removing the perfect happiness clause:
It would be great if Angel's curse was gone but he kept his soul and he and Buffy were together and eventually she was turned into a vampire with a soul too! Angel already signed away his prophecy reward of becoming human and he decided to go back to being a vampire in "I Will Remember You". That proves that to Angel fighting evil is more important to him than his own happiness, just like being the slayer is more important to Buffy than being just a normal girl without powers. I think that since Buffy and Angel have both matured and moved on with their lives and have been able to find themselves and work through inner problems, they could definitely have a relationship once again. Both are willing to maybe have a relationship again in the future and now that they have matured the main obstacle is Angel's curse. I don't think the initial issues about Buffy deserving a future with a "normal life" and a "normal boyfriend" matters much to either of them anymore. If Angel kept his soul but wasn't cursed, I think they would most definitely get together again. And I think it's possible because in Angel a shaman successfully removed his soul and planned to put it back. Then they'd be able to be in a relationship without having to worry about Angel's soul. I'd really love to see them fighting side by side again because they make a really amazing team. And in the long run maybe Buffy could be turned into a vampire and keep her soul so she and Angel can continue fighting together indefinitely!

^I don't believe it'd really be possible to sign away a prophecy though. It's meant to be fate, not a legally enforceable contract. That moment was more about showing that Angel was willing to sacrifice that future, that he wasn't doing things for the possible reward.

My issue with the idea of Buffy becoming a vampire, even a good ensoulled one, is that it was one of her nightmares in the season 1 episode Nightmares. And then, even though she'd be with Angel forever, she'd still outlive Dawn, Giles, all her friends....
