Well...he doesn't "come back to life" but in Dream Drop Distance he still calls himself "Lea" but he's just become a nobody. Same with a few other Org. members. Kinda like after KH BBS 哈哈 watch the trailers ALL 3 mmk? :3 (with subbies!)
Axel comes back as his somebody, Lea, in Dream Drop Distance. He no longer has his facial 纹身 and he realizes he is a somebody with a 心 and real feelings and everything else. So in a sense, it's Lea who "comes back." He and Axel are the same person, basically, so the only thing that really changed about him is that he is a somebody and his name is Lea. He's still the epic, infamous assaisan we all love!
He comes back as Lea along with the other members of Organization XIII whose original personas were already known in Ansems computer room in Radiant Garden. I was so sad when he died because he is my favourite character and I am so glad he is back!
