This is your third Maxim shoot...and we have to say, they just keep getting sexier!
I'm older and 更多 comfortable with my femininity. The first time I was about 19 and was very nervous. I was 更多 of a tomboy, I guess. I've always had a great time shooting with Maxim. I feel like it gives me my freedom. It's an edgy magazine, so it's cool.
What makes a woman sexy?
Attitude and confidence.
So, a new single and a new album to follow...
I have officially just wrapped the album. I've been working on it for about two and a half years. I've lived a lot, gone through a lot, and put a lot into my songwriting. These songs are very meaningful to me.
A lot of your songs have been about boys. Is that still the case on this album?
This album is the first that is not boy-bashing. [laughs] Is it inspired 由 my personal relationships? Yes. Inspired 由 life experiences? Yes. Inspired 由 experiences in situations with my family and friends? Yes.
What do 你 think of the new stars who have emerged since your last record, like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Ke$ha?
It's an interesting period in 音乐 right now, very '80s and beat-driven. A lot of girls are really into their image and costumes and going over the top. I really like Ke$ha. Her songs are fun to party to, and her lyrics are hilarious.
There have been some notable meltdowns of former teen stars. How have 你 managed to avoid those?
I got here on my own. I came from a small town and grew up in a regular home. I know what I've worked hard for. I've seen a lot of people who have gone a little crazy and who are really into the Hollywood scene. I don't really like to hang out with people like that.
Are 你 able to play in private?
Well, there are a lot of paparazzi in L.A. The only time I really ever get photographed is if I decide to go out with my 老友记 to a bar 或者 club, so then it kind of looks like I do that 更多 than I do. The majority of time I stay in.
Do 你 laugh 或者 get irritated when 你 see stories about yourself in the tabloids?
你 can only laugh at it and roll your eyes because it's like, "Really?" They usually just pull that stuff out of their ass, but I think people know that.
Do 你 even care what people think of 你 anymore?
I care, but 你 can't please everyone. I'm here to create my 音乐 and give it to the world.
Is there anything 你 think people would be surprised to know about you?
Yeah-I'm really shy and quiet.
你 have some new 纹身 since out last shoot. Tell us about them.
[points to forearm] This is ABBEY DAWN-that's my nickname and clothing line. I have a lightning bolt, a 音乐 note, and a star. [pulls up 最佳, 返回页首 to 显示 hip] Oh, I had a little 星, 星级 here last time, but now I have a big star. I have about 15 altogether, but they're all small.
你 also have a FUCK tattoo on one side of your rib cage.
I got that one two months ago...no, six.

I like a classy man, a gentleman who opens the door and gives 花 and always puts the lady first. I'm a little 老式 like that.
