And although we’re already halfway through the season and the only Greyjoy we’ve seen is Theon, that doesn’t mean Yara can’t show up. The last we saw of her, she was riding away declaring her brother dead after he refused to acknowledge himself lest her rescue attempt was a trap. But Yara is a vengeful soul, and you can bet she would be on Team Kill the Boltons if she and Stannis happened across each other on his way to Winterfell.

Other ways we might see her? Though most show watchers have probably forgotten by now, Balon Greyjoy was the fifth king in the War of the Five Kings, and supposedly Melisandre marked for death back when she performed her leechcraft in Season 3. Not that there’s a good way to do this (especially with the Kingsmoot and half the Greyjoys cut) but the show might feel the need to establish that Balon died, in order to show that Melisandre’s power is for real.

And then there’s the way I hope she shows up. One of the more memorable moments in Theon’s story from

occurs after he escapes Winterfell only to crash directly into Stannis and company. Who’s the first person he sees? His sister, who is currently being held captive by Stannis. His joy and laughter and relief at seeing her, even as he’s thin and freezing and half dead of frostbite, is a beautiful moment.

team up with Stannis for quite a while. She is the only one who unconditionally loved Theon enough to try to save him not once but TWICE (once at Winterfell after burning the boys, and the 2nd time at the Dreadfort). Balon is too hard headed to join Stannis but like you said, he may die or be revealed as dead which would leave Yara in charge. We all know how much Yara loves her people…and all last season it was emphasized AND shown that the Bolton’s were skinning alive Iron Islanders on sight even after the war had already been over. They literally cleansed the lands of Island Islanders and I would assume that had to have pissed Yara off. Stannis, Brienne, and Iron Islanders vs the Boltons..lol they are pretty much good as dead if it becomes reality.

I believe it has been on IMDB for a while now, although it certainly doesn’t prove anything!

Maybe when Pyke or (even weirder and better Deepwood Motte) shows up in the map during the opening credits, than I’ll be convinced.

I want her to take the place of her uncle and sail on Meereen for some epic, episode 9 battle. But alias, she will most likely cross paths with Stannis as the Iron Isle Queen.
