Serious Spoilers End of Series 5 - Read At Your Own Peril 

Seriously seriously do not read this if you do not want to know THINGS. Some details could be wrong... or have since been ultimately altered.

Meh. If these are the decisions they're going with, then I actually pity them.

They might still do a twist on this. If they end the series with a cruel joke of Merlin and Arthur's great destiny never being realized a lot of people are going to be very angry. So I hope they don't do that.

Yes I read this and I hope that its wrong. I would hate for Arthur to die young and before he has the chance to be the King we know he can be, the one to bring together all of Albion. Also, it would be terrible if he died without A/G having a kid to be heir.

I have a bad feeling that I'm going to be dropping some serious f-bombs after the series finale. And as you know, that don't happen much.

@kim, I agree. If they end it like it is speculated at this site I will cry and make my way across the pond to make my displeasure known. But this all depends on whether series 5 is the last series and whether they do another one or do the movies. And I'm finding it hard thinking which option I want. Because really since they are sucking a lot with the series so far its hard to know what to think or want.

Oh hons it is all work related. First quarter for my core business groups. We are planning for 2013 first quarter and it always gets hyper-active this time of year. I have to be on top of all the brands right now and most of my brands are active. This is when we plot out their strategy. All will return to normal when we have sign offs and work-backs in hand then the execution crew takes over. Thanks for asking. Agency life is fun. You either have a lot of time on your hands or you don't there is no inbetween.

Well....sigh..to be forewarned is to be prepared/ forearmed. Kbrand, i will be right there with you with the f-bombs. Arthur to die young after only 4 years of ruling, no heirs, no Albion ever being formed, Gwen to lose her husband so soon after the death of her brother, and no magical reveal would royally piss me off. I am holding out hope, as slim as it might be, that the show runners will not/would not do this to the fans. This ending would be a big F*uck you to the fans who were lead on to believe from season one that Merlin and Arthur were destined for greatness together through their creation of a country of magical acceptance and the unification of a great kingdom.

I tend not to read spoilers, but now I feel quite depressed by it all.
Hopefully there will be a twist, a happy twist.

Merlin is supposed to be about the life of the great Wizard as a young man. I want him to grow old alongside Arthur and Gwen.

I was hoping for Arthur and Gwen to live happily ever after, producing a few kids along the way, as the show has put it's on spin on the legends but It all feels like this is definitely the end, after 5 years of following the show.

Umm what does that mean?

Merlin is just said... Once Upon a Time broke the curse in one season. It is still good. Merlin just stopped trying.

I remember near the end of last season there was released some major spoilers...and none of them actually happened! So, cheer up, everyone! This might not occur.

If this is the show's finale, this is my hope:

The battle of Calmann happens. Arthur and Mordred dies by each other's hand but Merlin is able to revive Arthur through the power of Excalibur.

Justice delayed, but justice served: Morgana FINALLY pays for her crimes. Instead of a magical duel with Emyrs that finishes her; the two fight with Merlin stripping Morgana of her powers PERMANENTLY. He decides Morgana answers to the non-magical people she has terrorized over the years. In short, A PUBLIC EXECUTION. Forget a trial, just naming off the charges would take at least a week. Marched through the streets, especially the lower town where Gwen and Elyan were from, where the people will let the displeasure be known about how this nobly born witch treated two of their own (rotten fruit and vegetables thrown at her, cursing, spitting, contents of chamber pots - or commoner equivalent - emptied on her) as she marches to the gallows. The noose won't be waiting for her; it would be the AXE. They want to make sure she dies. Camelot's important people as well as representatives of courts of the Five Kingdoms are there to bear witness that Morgana's reign of terror comes to an end.

The beginning of Albion, with Arthur as High King. Arthur and Gwen discussing the future, while looking into the cradle of the next king (or queen) of Albion.

HMGwen, your finale works for me. Sounds a hell of a lot better, and makes more sense then the crap that is rumored.

If any of the above "spoilers" come to be true, then I will be sorely disappointed w/this show. But then again this series just feels so disconnected. Nothing is flowing. No growth. What happened to wanting to tell good stories? Im with you faithlessducks....the writers simply stopped trying.

i feel sooooooo sad these characters are like your children that have grown up... u been there for then every step of the way, you laugh, cry, and fitht with them... so is really sad to see them move on, but it's life it was good...wish them the best<3

I don't want them to be true. So I hope they are not. The ending seems good in a way. But they are so very far from the high peek for these characters. To end it like this would make Arthur never reach the status of the once and future King. It would also mean Merlin never got to be the great warlock.

It also means no Guinevere, which I noticed no one has mentioned, unless Merlin has also made her immortal for Arthur's sake and she will continue to reincarnate and they will continue to find each other but I doubt TPTB will include her. She will be left behind as usual.

I never thought I would say this but better she had married Lancelot instead she would have had children and some sort of life, instead of all this pain and loneliness, no Arthur no children, only emptiness.

^Oh wow. That's so sad, Lailastar. I decided I'm going to try not to think on this until it's over. Then I'll cry.

I know HQ, but I just had another thought, I read somewhere that the last scene is with Gwen and Gaius, maybe Arthur's legacy to Guinevere is a baby. At the end she is probably told by Gaius that she is pregnant. It ould be cruel to leave her alone without a piece of him to carry on, a little something to live for and remember him. Thsi is the thought I will hang on to through the next few episodes.

But they won't get a chance to be a family! I really hope these spoilers aren't true, they're going to break my heart. I'll just be crying in a corner somewhere.

Despite the temptation of the spoilers, i still believe the ending will not disapoint us.
Remember this is the new take on the legacy and everything we have seen so far suggests that the tptb are not eactly following the book so .. i still hope the ending will not be as they suggest in the spoilers.
I believe and hold out for this hope ... we will find out come December.
