Hehehehe! Love it. The most watched episode to date is about to occur. Fantastic! For all those not clear, that puts the enchantment theory to rest. ENCHANTMENT PEOPLE. End of discussion. Both are enchanted. It isn't an if, or a what if...done and dusted.
we can all breath easy knowing that our gwen is enchanted and hasnt got a clue what shes doing!! she would never cheat on arthur never!! urgggh wishing morgana would just leave them alone and let them be but of course she wont!!!
Can't get the link either. It no longer works. Does anyone think that the proposal will be after the incident/fight with Lancelot and after Gwen is released from the cell and she will turn him down because he didn't have faith in her enough to know that she wouldn't cheat on him - and then she will leave - giving him a lot to think about.
Definitely a confirmation of what we already assumed. I wonder what happens to the real Lancelot when he becomes unenchanted and if he survives. I'm reading this that they are putting the triangle to rest with this episode. And if Lancelot survives, I hope we don't have to continue to hear the legend thrown up in Gwen's face regarding post marriage. To be honest, that's why I had been hoping this was not the real person but some kind of monster pretending to be him or something. But to their credit, TPTB are attempting to maintain the integrity of these two honorable characters. Also, they will probably want to leave the door open for him to make appearances next season.
@Yawdy: We really can assume the proposal/engagement will happen in the beginning because in the filming scenes of the jousting tournament she has on the ring. Also in the kiss scene, you can see the ring on one of the angles.
This is such a clever plot and Morgana's best plan yet. I knew they both were enchanted. There was no doubt. But there were plenty of those who said: well Lancelot is enchanted but Gwen is not. She can't make up her mind and Arthur deserves better. Well now it is confirmed and we have said it all along.
YES!!!! Finally, i got it right!!!
I knew it they both had to be enchanted and they are!! YES!!
Ok, im sure this gonna be an explosive episode, leaving us all wanting more ... the proposal, finally some jousting scenes, Lancie boy (Whoohooo!!) returning, the triangle, the enchantment, the angst, the cries, the tears, the laughter, merlin's heroic and a suspension ending that's gonna leave us pulling our hair out!! So, one question, will the scene where arthur closes gwen's eyes from behind appear in this episode. I'm dying to watch it!!!
I'm happy ... very happy and now, i must dwell carefully with the conclusion of my story!!
YES!!!!
@HB: thanks for clearing up my assumption and answering my question. Can't wait for this episode. I actually dreamt about it last night. Hope it lives up to my expectation.
She is enchanted, now it's a fact! So does it end in a bad way? Why? Why does she leaves? The theorie that he didn't have faith in her than she leaves may happen, but in fact I have no ideia of what will happen. Cannot wait to see!
So, so happy to get confirmation of what we already knew...that Gwen is enchanted!!! Can't wait for this epi - to see the marriage proposal, Arthur shaking Gwen & to see how it is that Gwen ends up in the dungeon. Oh be still my Arwen heart!
We all need to remember. It's not DEFINITE that the scene with Arthur shaking her is in this episode. Some folks believe it could happen in episode 11 when she returns. I just don't know what to think about that. Also, there are different opinions on whether she has on the bracelet when he shakes her. If so, it's episode 9.
I rewatched Sweet Dreams last night because it was written by Lucy Watkins, who also wrote this week's ep 9. I keep thinking about the fact that Merlin ep's usually stand somewhat alone and don't end unresolved unless they are two-parters. So I was trying to think through the synopsis for ep11 and Gwenn leaving. Lucy's Sweet Dreams script, really did end on a sour note, because Arthur came to Guinevere and professed he had never loved another, but Gwen turned him away saying I cannot be your queen. Now I didn't find it too upsetting, because as alice Troughton proclaimed on the audio commentaries "Yes you can" be his queen. So that is why the unresolved conflict worked for us the audience. I wonder if episode 9 will do something similar to us emotionally, even if the enchantment thing is resolved. Just some thoughts to ponder as you will.
i was thinking something along the lines of ep 9 ending with arthur realising it was all an enchantment/evil morgana etc going to find gwen to find her house empty as she has left without resolving the issue with arthur ..
I, too, get the sense that it will end without a clear cut resolution. How could it not? Even with there being an enchantment invovlved issues within their relationship will be brought to the forefront and both will probably be questioning things between them a bit. I subscribe to the theory that guilt and frustration might lead Gwen to leave and that Arthur might not find out she has left until after the fact. Either way, I'm getting more and more excited to see how this episode and the rest of the series plays out. It is definitely going to be a hell of a ride!
can't wait to see how it all unfolds, a bittersweet ending to ep 9 would make for the most amazing reunion/resolution in ep 11 - i can hardly contain my excitement at seeing it all unfold - my god if this is season 4, what will season 5 do to me!!
Maybe you guys are getting close to a good thought here. Arthur would say "what were you doing" if Gwen just left and he found out after the fact. and he would be angry because he would have been worried and scared, just look at how he was in Lamia ep. This theory would be consistent with a resolved, yet not, Merlin episode and leave an opening for an epic scene in ep11 like the shake scene followed by what was tweeted as "their best scene ever, and a scene where we "need to scene the whole scene not just the him shaking her part". Although I still do find it hard to believe that they could just drop the storyline for a whole week with ep10. Maybe that is how they come across the erie shrine in the woods in ep 10 because they are out looking for Gwen.
@ itsastart i LOVE that idea of them looking for gwen in ep 10 because she's left camelot, and then all of arthur's frustrations/worry/tension comes out in the "what were you doing scene" when she returns in ep 11 - OMG we're so good at these theories! lol
itsastart,
I like that idea of the search for her being the reason the knights come across the shrine. I thought the writers said at the begnning of the season that the episodes were going to be more interconnected this season as opposed to standalone. I think this would be a good way to build continuity.
itsastart - in relation to your ep 10 theory, i've just had a thought that the " but when Elyan ignores Merlin’s warning" part of the synopsis and that it could be because he's desperate to find his sister as she has gone AWOL??
Something is bugging me : Morgana discovers that Arthur "IS PLANNING to propose". Does the whole Lancelot mess happen before Arthur's actual proposal? So the scene with the ring should be at the very end of the epi. Oh, my god, does Gwen actually decline the proposal what might explain her departure and the "past wounds still raw" in BBC synopsis of 4x11.
Please someone, tell me I am seeing to much. My gooooood!!!!!!!!
Delirium tremens symptom.
@chattawak Gwen says yes!! she probably cries with happiness thats why arthur's confused cos shes emotional lol they are already engaged when morgana hatches her evil plan eg lancie boy comes and spoils the party! :(!! cos shes wearing the ring xxxx
I LOVE THE WRITERS ♥
I LOVE THEM SO MUCH ♥♥
LUCY YOU ROCK <3
you are totally right! morgana is pain in the ass !
Also, they are screwing with us in more than one way. Usually episode 10 is the big Arwen episode!
But for now, an enchanted Gwen is good enough.
I knew it they both had to be enchanted and they are!! YES!!

OMG! when this will happen i will cry ... a lot!
So many theories... i kinda hope that the shaking scene is in episode 11....
Because i think it`s already a huge storyline for 40 minutes :/
But Lucy has written it and i have a lot of trust in her! she knows what she is doing...
