Episode 69: Jinxed
Date: February 4, 1957
Location: Cheyenne, Wyoming
Time: 7:08 AM
Railway: Union Pacific

One morning it was dark, and cold. The sun started to rise from the east, so Hawkeye, and Stylo were greeted with a pleasant sight as they drove their train out of the yards.

They also saw two diesels for the Baltimare & Ohio Railway.

Hawkeye: Looks like we got two diesels blocking our path. *Stops train*
Stylo: Doesn't the engineer of those engines know what he's doing?
Hawkeye: Maybe not. Call dispatch, I'm gonna talk to that engineer. *Walks to other diesels*
Stylo: *On Radio* Train 602 to dispatch.
Snowflake: Stylo? What's the matter?
Stylo: We have two diesels blocking our path. What do 你 want us to do?
Snowflake: I'll get Wilson, and Metal Gloss to get some other engines coupled up to the back of your train, and bring it back into the yards. After that, 你 get coupled up to those diesels blocking your path, and bring them over here.
Stylo: Alright, thank you.
Hawkeye: *Arrives* Remember how 你 说 the engineer doesn't know what he's doing?
Stylo: Yeah?
Hawkeye: Well the engineer is a she.
Renee: Hello.
Stylo: What were 你 doing out there in those engines?
Renee: Waiting for somepony to crash into me, and have me killed.
Stylo: What?
Hawkeye: Why?
Renee: I don't deserve to live.
Hawkeye: Aw, come on. Don't be so hard on yourself.
Renee: It's true. I'm jinxed, and the B&O fired me because of that.
Hawkeye: *Angry* That's ridiculous. There's no such thing as being jinxed.
Stylo: 嘿 Hawk, Snowflake wants 你 to uncouple our train from the engines. Wilson, and Metal Gloss are gonna bring it back into the yards, and we have to get Renee's engines into the yards as well.
Hawkeye: Alright. Renee, 你 stay with Stylo.
Renee: Okay. *Goes into cab of Stylo's engine*
Hawkeye: *Goes to coupling, and uncouples engines from freight cars*

The train soon went back into the yards, and Hawkeye walked back into Stylo's engine.

Hawkeye: We ready?
Stylo: Yeah.
Renee: I just hope I don't cause any bad luck towards you.
Hawkeye: 你 won't. Now let's go. The sooner we get those engines into the yards, the better.
Stylo: *Drives slowly into Renee's engine* We're good. *Goes backward*
Renee: So far so good.
Hawkeye: For the last time, there's no such thing as a jinx. Now when we get your engines into the yards, you're gonna have to talk to our boss about this.

Date: February 4, 1957
Location: Cheyenne, Wyoming
Time: 7:14 AM
Railway: Union Pacific

Pete was in his office when he saw Hawkeye, and Stylo walk in with somepony he never saw before.

Hawkeye: Pete, meet Renee.
Renee: *Nervous* Hello.
Pete: So, you're the 小马 that tried to get herself killed on the mainline.
Renee: *Nervously shakes her head yes*
Pete: I won't allow that. 你 will not have yourself get killed, but 你 have got yourself a job. Pierce, and Stylo here will get your engines refueled, and you'll be taking a westbound freight into Denver.
Renee: Okay.

So Renee went with the two stallions to drive her first train for the Union Pacific. Her engines were coupled up to a freight train consisting of thirty six cars.

Renee: *Climbs into engine* I'm so nervous.
Hawkeye: You've got nothing to be nervous about.
Stylo: Drive the train, and stay calm.
Renee: What if I get jinxed?
Hawkeye: 你 won't get jinxed, because there's no such thing as a jinx.
Renee: *Scared* Okay. *Blows horn twice on her train, and drives out of the yards*
Stylo: So far so good.
Hawkeye: Yeah, she's got it. I still can't believe, that she believes in being jinxed.
Stylo: Well it could happen.
Hawkeye: No it won't.

Suddenly, the caboose on Renee's train came derailed, and hit part of Snowflake's yard tower.

Snowflake: Whoa! *Gets on radio* Renee, stop! Your caboose has been derailed.
Renee: Oh dear. *Stops train* I was doing so well too.
Snowflake: I'll get Percy, and Jeff to take a look at the track. Your caboose shouldn't have derailed like that.

Percy, and Jeff inspected the track for any damage. Strangely enough, they couldn't find anything wrong, so they decided to check the wheels on the caboose.

Percy: *Under the caboose*
Jeff: *Standing 下一个 to the caboose with Renee* Sometines, if the wheels on any train car are in bad condition, they can derail 由 accident, unless 你 fix it.
Renee: Oh, I never knew that.
Percy: *Comes out of caboose* There's nothing wrong Jeff.
Jeff: Well, that's strange.
Renee: Only one explanation for that then. I was jinxed.
Hawkeye: Okay, we're gonna go talk to Pete about this.

So Hawkeye, and Stylo returned to Pete with Renee.

Pete: What do 你 mean jinxed?
Renee: That's the only explanation sir. The tracks were in good condition, the caboose had no damage on it's wheels, 或者 axles, but it came derailed anyway. I'm jinxed.
Hawkeye: I think you've been telling us that for too long now. There is no such thing as a jinx.

All of a sudden, Pete's 台, 办公桌 fell apart.

Pete: Hey! What the-?
Renee: Has that ever happened before?
Hawkeye: No it hasn't.
Stylo: Not until now anyway.
Pete: *Very angry* Hawkeye! Stylo! Get this fucking 小马 out of my office right away! On the double!!
Hawkeye: Right. *Leaves office with Stylo, and Renee*

Date: February 4, 1957
Location: Cheyenne, Wyoming
Time: 7:31 AM
Railway: Union Pacific

After being shouted at 由 Pete, Hawkeye, Stylo, and Renee went back to the freight train they tried driving earlier. The caboose was back on the rails, and the train was waiting.

Renee: *Gets in her engines* I'll see 你 two later, I guess.
Hawkeye: Sure 你 will. 你 work here now.
Renee: I guess so. *Drives train*
Stylo: *Watching Stylo's train*
Snowflake: Pierce, and Stylo, I got a new assignment for 你 from Pete.
Hawkeye: What is it Snowy?
Snowflake: *Not amused* I told 你 not to call me that. Forty one flat cars of steel need to go into Denver.
Hawkeye: Forty one flat cars?
Stylo: I haven't heard of so many freight cars carrying steel like that since 1942.
Hawkeye: I have a feeling Jeff 说 that already.
Jeff: I did? *Remembering* Oh yeah. It was before Coffee Creme was arrested 由 the FBI.
Hawkeye: A horrible 日 for us all. Let's get to our freight train Stylo.

So the two stallions got in their train, and drove towards Denver. They were passing a siding when they saw Renee's train, but Renee's engines were not attached to the train.

Hawkeye: That's strange.
Stylo: Why would she leave her train there?
Renee: *Going backwards in her locomotives*
Hawkeye: I wonder if her radio works in those diesels. *Gets on Radio* Renee? Can 你 hear me?
Renee: Yeah?
Hawkeye: 你 seem to be going fast in reverse.
Stylo: I watched The Searchers in reverse. Everypony that died came right back to life.
Renee: Speaking of dying, that's exactly what I'm going to do. I'll go too fast on this turn, and crash my train.

Her engines ran out of fuel, and they weren't going fast enough for her to go off the rails.

Hawkeye: Looks like 你 ran out of fuel.
Renee: Oh fiddlesticks.
Stylo: If 你 don't get your engines back onto your train, we'll find somepony else to take it for you.
Renee: All I wanted to do was crash, and kill myself, but no! Being jinxed sucks.

Hawkeye, and Stylo had to continue on to Denver with their train, but Mirage arrived in another locomotive to take Renee's engines back to the yards. Troublesome things had been happening to Mirage however, and when he towed Renee's engines back to the yards, this is what happened.

Mirage: *Pulling Renee's engines with his engines*
Renee: *Sitting 下一个 to Mirage* How many engines are 你 using?
Mirage: Three GP9's. We started getting them here since '54.
Renee: That's cool.
Mirage: Well I'm glad 你 think so. These engines really are neat.

One of them broke down.

Mirage: Oh no! Now I've gotta get three dead diesels into the yards.
Renee: *Thinking about being Jinxed* I think I know why.
Mirage: Well don't think about it. Just sit there, and think about happy thoughts.

The 秒 engine broke down.

Renee: There goes another one.
Mirage: Blimey! *Stops train* Now I don't have enough power to get us back to the yards. Now what?
Renee: We wait. I'm sure somepony will help us soon.

But it took five hours for Hawkeye, and Stylo to come back from Denver. When they did, they were told to bring Mirage, and Renee's engines back to the yards.

Hawkeye: *Stops his engines near Mirage's diesels* Make sure we're coupled up.
Stylo: *Goes out to look at couplings* We're good.
Hawkeye: Alright. Here we go. *Drives train toward yards*

Pete: I was thinking of having her transferred to your railway.
Michael: Transferred? What for?
Pete: Let's just say, things aren't going so well for her here.

Renee: I am driving a train with explosives, but I'm not to worry.
