(I don't want to give too much away) The guy despised 狼 and hunted them and the 狼 didn't care for him either. However, these two were killed 由 the same guy, in fact the 狼 tried to protect him. They spend their last moments together just giving comfort to each other. So they died not really 老友记 but not enemies either. RIP sweet Toboe

I highly recommend watching this anime. Even though I have seen a lot of great 日本动漫 over the years, this one is still my all time 2nd 最喜爱的 ever. It is so deep, so confusing, so sad, but so beautiful.
