How is Key 日本动漫 seen in the 日本动漫 community?

I've just started watching 日本动漫 this 年 and I've been watching ones that are pretty well known, and that reasonably short (less than 2 seasons).

Some of the 日本动漫 I really enjoyed were Key Animes including Air, Kanon, Clannad (and After Story), 天使 Beats and Little Busters.

Some I'm curious to how Key 日本动漫 is viewed in the 日本动漫 world.

For example, is it seen as:
Too mainstream?
Too emotional?
Awful?
Really good?

Like I've 说 I'm new to 日本动漫 and I'm just curious what well rounded and veteran 日本动漫 粉丝 think of Key. BE HONEST !
