Hm... Have 你 seen FullMetal Alchemist? Super sad! Death, sacrifice, lament, angst, combined with comedy and action thrown in for good measure. It's as sad, is not sadder, than CLANNAD.

I haven't actually seen this anime, mostly because it's supposed to be extremely bloody and scary, but I've heard that Elfen Lied is extremely sad.

Kanon 2006 was 更多 sad. I swear every character had a very lonely and sad past, and sad present. It was funny too. :)

U should watch Kobato, its a bit slow to start but god the last 2 episodes probably made me cry 更多 than any other sad 日本动漫 ive seen. (and ive seen alot) :D
