hate it. i don't mind blood spewing all over the place if it's "artistically done", or even body parts being chopped off (again, if artistically done), but i don't want to see any brains or internal organs. i prefer a fantasy world where there is no such mess.

I like the realism involved in scenes that do it well, but some just do it to make a scene dramatic. It's often too much.

^ Fair enough. I'm no real fan of it, either. I've only watched a couple of anime with gore in them - Gantz and Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni/Kai... Gantz was a bit over the top, but I liked the characters and the way that they interacted with each other. I didn't particularly enjoy the gore, though. The same with Higurashi, except that I enjoyed everything about it, excluding the few gory moments that occur within it.

Blame it on the fact that my first horror film was a slasher and I was only five. Even though I am more of a psychological horror fan, I do enjoy gore.

I'm not partial to it as I have a bit of a weak stomach/ heavy gore is kind of triggering to me (I'm talking heads exploding and seeing brain matter everywhere kind of gore.) But if it's not overtly intense (I can handle Shingeki no Kyojin without a problem), I'll watch it. I understand that gore is often used to add impact to situations (invoke fright, to enhance the danger levels of a situation, etc.) Higurashi and Another are the kind of gore I'm not very fond of; plus if the gore happens to deal with needles... yeah. ;u; (I kind of have a phobia of needles...)

@Zeppie. Perhaps it's because the gore is real-life gore, rather animated gore. XD

Yeah, some anime the gore is over the top, and others, there's a little bit of gore, but nothing too ridiculous. I wonder, though, as to the definition of 'gore' in anime. Is the amount of blood and whatnot, in Bleach, or One Piece, or D. Gray Man, would that be considered 'gore', or just simply injuries and a bit of blood. How much blood do you need in order for it to be classified as 'gore', or is it simply the manner in which the person was injured?

I'm not to bothered by it anymore, it really depends on how it is done. Like I don't mind Another type of gore, but Elfen Lied gore not a fan of, though the series is still good. Frankly, I think gore can be pointless, especially when it is over the top. But of course with horror, you can expect gore to be in it. But there are many good horrors that don't have it. But like Zeppie said, I hate gore in real life films, especially when it is bad.

I can love it in amazing horror animes but I tend to hate the "realistic" ones in action movies with human actors. Though after watching Happy Tree Friends you learn to tolerate it. But I mean when the guts come out and you know the organ it's like studying lol
Anyway, I haven't seen a lot of gory animes, but the ones that I have are pretty good.

Emo: Oh I can't watch Happy Tree Friends, I get sick when I watch it. Like want to throw up sick and my body parts hurt.

I don't like or dislike it, I just don't mind it that much. But, I don't like unnecessary gore in anime. And as @ChadKumada said, I like it more when it's artistically done. Though, I don't have the strongest stomach so over the top gore I don't do so well with. Like Elfen Lied is one of the goriest anime out there and I'm hesitant to watch it. I know I shouldn't let something like gore turn me away from an amazing story but I watched one gory scene and....damn. If I got sick from that I don't know how well I'll do watching the whole series~ But overall, I'm ok with a fair amount of gore.

Not as much as in other animes but, don't really care.

I remain indifferent to it. I dont necessarily like it, but I can watch it if needs be. Gore in anime has never seemed to bother or have effect on me, but I would still prefer the plot to out rule the gore and violence. I dont really like it when the gore out rules the plot, or when its unnecessary.

I hate all anime which has gore. Apart from Higurashi though

I've said it multiple times; I hate censorship so much. Gorey anime is the shit, I think it makes it interesting. And it's not like it makes me cringe to see a cartoon character die in a strange manner (unless I love the character :P).

I am not indifferent but I do not need a lot or an overabundance (just like in my lovies) if it is well done then I do like sensationalism. It doesn't turn me on. It can be shocking etc. I just do not like it to be over done.

I suppose it really depends, although in general I hate gore with a passion. It's kind of hard to explain, but I'd say I'm one of the people that hates the "violence against women and children" type of gore. I don't really have a problem with seeing a bunch of tough guys hacked apart in an action series though. It's why I could never watch High School of the Dead. Seeing a bunch of high school kids being eaten alive by zombies really isn't my idea of entertainment. When I saw the part where the one girl kicked her friend into the zombies I had to quit there. Gore like that really pisses me off and puts me in a foul mood for at least a couple of days. I prefer more lighthearted anime, like romantic comedies or slice of life.

well, I can't say I mind it to much, I like anime wih blood in it, cuz it makes me have more emotion through out the series and for the ppl suffering

but it's not my favorite thing....It's kindda gross, I really don't like seeing what's Inside the ppl body, that totally gross, eww

I don't like gore, but if an anime has an appealing storyline I won't hestitate to watch it if it contains gore.

i watch a lot of gory animes, and the gore doesn't really bother me. if the gore is at a super extreme level than i will start to feel nauseous. anything other than that I'm fine. i don't really love or hate gore. sometimes it's good and it adds to the show and sometimes it's pointless and isn't good at all. so it differs for me. sometimes i like it sometimes i hate it. so i guess I'm indifferent

Well, I don't HATE it so much as... dislike it. If it has a good plot and good characters, I can put up with gore (which is why it's about time I watched Attack on Titan). I'd prefer not to see it, though, if that's possible.

Gore is good. It can enhance my enjoyment of an anime.
