I usually do because I want a part so bad.

i usually freak out before but get like this WEIRD calmness when i'm actually auditioning...

I get a lot of nervous energy, but I'm not actually nervous. It just really pumps up my performance.

last time, I wasn't nervous at all because I didn't think I stood a chance. But then i got a lead part and I was like: "WOAH..."

Oh hell yes! I get so nervous sometimes, it's insane...

same as AmyFitz. I get really hyper for some reson before auditions, though!

To some degree it depends on the audition. Singing auditions are much more nerve-racking for me. Acting auditions are a breeze for me and I feel very, very good about them before, during and after. At least, usually.

Always. I am surprised more people didn't say they get nervous. I don't see how that's possible. If you want the part at all and aren't certain you'll actually get it, you should be nervous. It's only natural.

If you don't get nervous, there's something wrong with you. You HAVE to be nervous, or you become over confident and stuff up!

i dont get that nervous though, i just dont want to do terrible!

Only for singing auditions. I'm concieted about my speaking acting.

Extremely, but, oddly enough, once i get started, i calm down. i find that the nervousness is actually kind of helpful for the audition. It kind if pumps me up.

Again, never auditioned for acting. But I've auditioned for (again) other reasons and yes I was very nervous.

cuz its only my drama and choir/music teacher ive known them 4 a few years n have auditioned 4 them b4 so im not nervous

Nervous energy is good. If you weren't nervous, it's not that great. A bit of nerves is good.

I always get nervous. I do a lot of musicals and I'm always terrified I'll forget the words,or sing the wrong pitches.

I think even the biggest movie actors and actresses do!

It's a make or break moment, which could mean the difference between you having a spotlight over your head and a standing ovation- or being a pheasent harmonising in the background. So yeah, it's scary. But to be honest, i'm lucky enough to have lines at all. Actually, i'm lucky enough to be on stage AT ALL.

I have never done a proper audition, the most i've done is say one line and cough dramatically. I was asked to do it the day before i did it and it was only about 1 minute, nothing worth getting worked up about. It was only in front of about 3 people and not in a special room with special lighting.

I don't actually get nervous about performing, but there's a lot of pressure when it comes to auditions. Especially when it's for a part you really want!

Wow. My response was definitely confirmed today!

I had auditions this afternoon, and I felt terrified all morning. I actually had fun while I was auditioning, but that nervousness would be there every time when I was getting ready to audition. Then, the panel deliberated while we were there waiting for them - which was also pretty scary! Strangely, I felt calmer during this time than I expected to. I guess I was glad that they were giving us the results before we went home, otherwise we'd have to wait until tomorrow evening to find out! 8O

Anyway, I got a nice part in the show, so the torture was worth it. O.Ov
